Author has written 8 stories for Harry Potter. After a several year absence on FF due to a loss of access to my account here (email issues on my end), I finally got back in. Of course, much has happened in that time too. Frequent moves in the last few years have also kept me busy. My stories will likely be on a temporary hiatus come late summer for a month or so when the new school year begins. As an educator with kids who haven't been in school for several months, I expect chaos. Once things settle, I will return probably about the start of autumn. Yes, I will be. Just be patient as start work in full swing again. -I believe fanfiction should stick solely in the fiction and never be about actual people. It's weird and creepy to me to write about real humans. Celebrities are still people and deserve the same respect as anyone else as people. -I loathe when people go onto any fanfic pairing to whine about said pairing. It's fanfiction about fictional characters. Chill out and don't read if you don't like it. There's plenty of pairings of many stories I dislike that I simply don't read. -I'm creeped out by any sort of teacher-student pairing, even former students. I'm sure your story is great, but I can't read such. As an educator, it is just not okay to me. -Another issue I see often in fanfic and basically everywhere where someone writes something: Going around whining that your opinion is different and therefore your opinion is the correct one. Not facts, solely opinion. It is one thing to say hey, I disagree and here is why and another to basically insult a person because you don't agree. Constructive criticism is good. Insulting or bashing someone is not. Plenty of people don't seem to get this. You are free to do and say what you wish, but you aren't free from the consequences those choices. -While some fanfic writers write because they just like writing, others are trying to improve their writing. Offer helpful critique instead of insults. Best rules of thumb: One: If you wouldn't want to say it to them face to face, don't say it online. Don't be a jerk. Two-Be respectful. The people you are talking to are real people. Treat them as such.
