Author has written 13 stories for Harry Potter, and Hunger Games. August 2016: I haven't been on here in about 3 years. My life has changed so much since I last published here. Graduated, got a job, moved out, parents moved overseas, had 2 boyfriends, dog died, and doing Honours via correspondence study. So there is a lot going on. I don't intend on finishing anything unfinished here. 21 April 2013: I have been so busy with University of late. I am halfway through getting my degree, and I am doing two degrees at the same time (English and Psychology) as well as two other subjects and I am working hard on my own novel, and I am trying to have a bit of a social life, so writing fanfics has kind of taken a back seat. Today though, I finished the detailed planning of the rest of Threats and Secrets, so all I need to do now is get it down, which, now that I am rather back into the flow of it, shouldn't be all that difficult. 02 July 2013: So I finally managed to update with the next chapter, which I am sorry for the lengthy delay. Murphy is not really my friend, because I can spend hours doing absolutely nothing, but as soon as I want to actually get some writing done, things start to happen that require my attention. Anyway, it's up, and I want to try and get the next chapter up soon. I just wanted to put a note here about my Secrets Series. I am writing this fic, and therefore I decide where it goes and what happens. I really appreciate reviews, I really do, but I am starting to get a little tired of people saying they want more Harry and Severus time. I try and squeeze it in where I can, but firstly, Severus has a life that doesn't always include Harry just as much as Harry has a life that doesn't revolve around Severus. Secondly, we can't have Harry traipsing to Severus' office every afternoon for tea. Thirdly, we may have known the truth about them from the start, but Harry has not. He has not had the opportunity to form a bond with Severus. They are still strangers. Harry may have looked for a father figure throughout the books, but he always trusted those he chose. He does not entirely trust this man that he spent an entire childhood ignorant of, and then the first year hating. Give me a little leeway here. Don't forget that I do want to write several more stories that cover the rest of the books, so there will be some bonding happening eventually. 10 December 2013: Wow, I have not written anything on here for ages and for that I am extremely sorry. This year has been so hectic, and any time I take for writing I usually dedicate to my book I'm currently working on. I am not going to make any promises about completing the Secrets series, mainly because in order for it to be as accurate as I want it to be, I have to do quite a bit of research. I will try to finish Threats and Secrets by Feb of next year because I am on holiday at the moment and really dont have an excuse. But like I said, no promises... I will try and write a lot more oneshots though. My rule: If you don't like it, don't read it. Follow me on Tumblr I am, first and foremost, a die-hard Harry Potter fan. This just goes without saying. It is the series that I have grown up reading, and I take something new from it each time I read it. Harry Potter just has so many levels that go way beyond just a boy wizard defeating a bad guy. I won’t list them however, because it is for you to decide what you take from it. Another of my serious favorites is the Hunger Games trilogy. It is one of those that I wish she could just keep writing. This trilogy is brilliant. I must admit, the first-person present-tense irked me a bit at first, but Collins’ writing style just made it so easy to slip into. I found, by the end, that I actually loved it. It was a different style, and certainly made me feel ‘in the moment’ with Katniss. I was rather surprised that this is classed as YA fiction, simply because of the level of brutal violence, especially in the last book. This year, and in particular the last few months, I have become a serious Whovian. I have watched all of the New Who series and am in the process of reading all the novelisations. I generally don’t mind reading about any pairings to be honest, but I shall tell you my favourite ones to read, and by extension, write. In Harry Potter, I like Snape and Lily, or Snape and Hermione pairings. The former, because he dedicated his entire life to honouring her memory, even if he did go about it in an unconventional manner, and the latter because Hermione is intelligent and clever (in my books, those aren’t the same thing), and is on a similar level to Snape. In the Hunger Games, I ship Haymitch and Katniss. The reasons for this is quite valid, (unlike the possibly shaky reasons I gave for Snape). They get each other. They can speak volumes to each other without even saying a word. Katniss knows what he means when he says things, she understands that there is more to Haymitch than just a drunkard. And she seeks him out for comfort, for praise, for direction, for help, for hope. That much is obvious even in the books. It seems I have a serious thing for moody, unpredictable, brooding, sarcastic older men. The stories I have written for Harry Potter are thus: Oneshots: Visiting Fred’s Grave Upside Down World Baby Harry and the Marauders Of Ghosts and Smiles Voldemort at the Olympics Longer fics: Redemption Dumbledore’s Memories The ‘Secrets’ series A Secret Moment (Oneshot, read first) Lies and Secrets (Second) Threats and Secrets (Third) The stories I have written for Hunger Games: Reflections and Dreams Memories MY FAVORITE TV SHOWS AND THEIR SHIPS: Once Upon A Time: Rumbelle, Charmings, SwanFire, Captain Swan. (NBC) Hannibal: Hannigram, Murder Family. Elementary: Joanlock Sherlock: Johnlock Doctor Who: Jack/Everybody, 10/Rose, 11/River, Rory/Amy A note on my Once Upon A Time ship: Rumbelle is everything I could ask for in a ship: an older, evil, unconventionally good-looking guy who thinks he cannot be loved falls in love with a younger, beautiful, intelligent, inherently good woman and through her, finds he can redeem himself, and that he can actually love and be loved. AND IT IS COMPLETELY CANON!!! |
