![]() Author has written 4 stories for Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and Labyrinth. Please feel free to contact me here. I apologize for not updating in a while... life got rough. Abusive relationship, divorce, and a big move several states away kind of glued up my writing abilities, but I am going to be finishing things. I don't want to leave folks hanging! Stories and Fictions Current Stories Time in a Bottle - Labyrinth (Previously Honest Truth) I've always wondered what would happen if the magic of the Labyrinth clashed with the reality of the cool 90's, and what if Sarah was forced by her parents to admit that what she had experienced was nothing more than a hallucination from a knock to the head. Then, I wondered, what would Jareth do in the wake of her rejection? What if as time went on he felt more attached to her than he initially thought, but still resented her scorn? And what if there was nothing he could do to contact her? How would he get her attention? And more importantly, what of Toby, who Jareth also wanted? It all comes together in a mad dash with twists and turns that not even I can predict. Song-spirations for Time in a Bottle: Time in a Bottle by Jim Croce: http:///music/jimcroce/timeinabottle
Switch and Slide - Labyrinth This was a challenge presented by Kore of Myth. The challenge was to put songs onto your music player, hit 'shuffle' and then write five different blurbs for five different songs. You only have as long as each song plays to write the blurb, and when it's done it's done, no going back to edit. I really enjoyed the challenge and think it's a refreshing way to write. I admit that I am not usually into non-canon pairings, but in my senior year of high school I fell in love with Romeo and Juliet, acted in the play at school, directed the younger student version, and analyzed the text day after day. I have to say, I really loved the concept and the drama. That year was also the release of one of the HP books, and naturally it all came together. Now, granted, a lot of the people who later died are still alive, so on and so forth, so it's pretty much AU in that regard, but still a good read in the end. I've had complaints that I switch in the middle of the story to more colloquial speaking on behalf of the characters, and I'll admit an apology. As I wrote on I got more onto the side of the R&J rather than the HP and it obviously shows. But I think such is whenever you try and blend to stories together to follow one of the plots. I apologize and hope that doesn't deter readers from still enjoying the colorful details. Haldir - The Lord of the Rings This was intended as the beginning of a series of one-shots from the smaller characters in the books, but ended up only being the one, and even then it's based in the movie, not the books. However, I do use book canon, so, never fear loyal LotR fans! |
