Im assuming youre here because youve found one of my stories and decided to see what else I had going on. I used to have an elaborate profile here, but its now ridiculously out-dated so its under construction for now. However, until that is done, if you still want to know a bit about me and my stories I wont disappoint...

(By the way, for some reason all my apostrophes disappeared from my profile. I'm too lazy to go through and fix it right now, but until I do I just wanted to note that so it doesn't deter others from my stories for thinking I don't know how to use an apostrophe. Sorry, carry on!)

My name is Brittany, Im 22 years old, I live somewhere on Long Island, which is in New York, which is in the United States. I am currently unemployed (as of a few weeks ago), but normally I do reception/administration work and Im looking for a new job constantly. I am in love and relish every second I spend with my loved one, I sleep late and stay up late, I spend my spare time jotting down drabbles and ideas in the hundreds of notebooks I have scattered around my home, and Ill never turn down a nice walk around town. Holding hands and cuddling are my weaknesses. I have dyscalculia, which is just like dyslexia except with numbers, so I tend to have the mathematical skills of a first grader. Im a generous person and have a hard time saying "no" to anyone. I have social anxiety, but its gotten better throughout the years and now Im, surprisingly, more of an extrovert than Ive ever been. I am a domestic violence survivor and to this day my abuser tries anything and everything to make my life a living hell, but Im a stronger person now and Ive learned how a woman deserves to be treated. I love to talk and meet new people. I dislike drama and catty girls, especially superficial ones that judge people based on the brand of their clothing or the state of their appearance (it comes from growing up in a small, rich town where sixteen year olds drive brand new BMWs and I was bullied constantly for not wearing brand name clothing). I wear whats comfortable, not whats trendy. I am me, and thats all I ever will be. Im happy with it.

I love to write, its my passion and (obviously) the reason Im here. I have a fiction novel in progress that I hope to someday publish; its called Taking Care of Business. I dont want to elaborate more on it, nor do I wish to publish it on Fictionpress, because Im scared that: a) someone will copy it and claim it as their own (Im not that cocky to think someone would want my work that badly, but I personally think Im a decent writer and dont want to take the chance of someone plagiarizing it); b) Im not sure whats considered "previously published work" and whats not so I dont want to run into trouble one day if a literary agent does deem it worthy of publishing. I do prefer fanfiction, though, because its fascinating how many different situations, pairings and scenarios can be created using our favorite characters and places.

Harry Potter is my life. I am a Slytherin *go snakes!* on Pottermore and I know for a fact I have all the traits of a Slytherin; Ive always known it was my house. Now if only my Hogwarts letter had come and I couldve gotten the chance to wear those lovely emerald-trimmed robes... *sigh*
Anyway... So yeah, I eat, sleep and breath HP. Jily gives me so many feels, Im pretty much in love with the deliciously evil Lucius Malfoy, Ginny Weasley happens to be my hero, the Noble and Most Ancient House of Black fascinates me to no end and I have an insatiable craving to learn/write about each and every member of that tapestry, I find Bellamort sexy (I mean come on.. Voldemort SCREAMED!), I secretly wish there was a way I could learn Parseltongue, and those peacocks are gorgeous and you damn well know it. Yes, I have read the books/watched the films, and I do like them. Im not obsessed like I am with other fandoms, and I dont care at all for Bella for obvious reasons (or Edward and his stalkerish ways) but some of the other characters like Jasper and Emmett are pretty cool, and the exotic vamps they bring in at the end of Breaking Dawn are pretty awesome too. So dont hate on me for liking Twilight please. I enjoyed the books and last I checked I have the freedom to read and like whatever I want. Im not some little ten year old girl squee-ing over how "omg hawtt!!11" Edward is so no worries!

Now, onto my stories.

I know I dont have much posted yet, but dont worry; I have plenty of ideas and half-finished stories ready to go. I have a strange, elaborate editing system. I write all my stories in notebooks, edit them over with red pen once finished, then type them on Word so I can catch any last-minute typos or errors in grammar, then I re-read them before finally putting them up on the site for publishing. I have plenty of works that I plan to publish before the end of 2012, to if youve subscribed to me in the past and are regretting it do not fret! There is much more to come!

Work-in-Progress:
Enemies of the Heir Beware - A pre-Marauders, pre-Golden Trio story that takes place during the 1944-45 school year and forward. I try to stay as close to canon as possible, but there is the slight error in the date as I always assumed Tom Riddle was born in 1926 and later discovered it is considered canon that he was born in 1929. It fits the story better my way, though, and it is canon-compliant aside from that small error. Riddle is in his sixth year in this story, Minerva McGonagall in her fifth (her age might be off as well, but I didnt have Pottermore at the time of writing this so I didnt have access to her back-story). The story features canon characters Alastor Moody, Eileen Prince and Alphard Black, with frequent appearances from Cygnus Black, Orion Black, Abraxas Malfoy, Antonin Dolohov and Walburga Black. There are OCs present as well, since theres not that many canon characters to use for this time period. Dont worry, no Mary-Sues! This story is actually a prequel to my original fanfic, Curse of the Horfelix, which does take place in the Marauers-era but features more of the Slytherin side of the age. There is a third as well that takes place from the time the Golden Trio starts Hogwarts up until the final battle. This trilogy stays as close to canon as possibly possible, but adds some interesting back-stories, especially including my favorite family - the Noble and Most Ancient House of Black!
I have currently put EHB on hiatus, only because the notebook I had written the entire story in was destroyed on accident. I am currently re-writing it using memory, and will be posting chapters once again as soon as I have a significant amount written as well as a new plot line. I promise, with the Chamber of Secrets opening (remember what I said about Riddle being slightly younger in this fic!) and the Dumbledore vs. Grindelwald fight coming up, Alastors first year will be anything but ordinary. It will be an interesting journey, so please stick with me because I am NOT abandoning something Ive poured my heart into!

One-Shots:
Trapped and Wasted: Story title taken from a quote by Albus in reference to how he felt when left to take care of Aberforth and Ariana on his own instead of pursuing his dreams with Gellert. This is just a little story of how, when Lily and James are hiding out in Godrics Hollow, they come upon an interesting grave in the graveyard near their home. Little do they know someone else is also visiting that night to pay respects to his fallen sister.
When the Mark Burned:From Bellatrix Lestrange (post-Azkaban)s point of view; her feelings when she feels her Dark Mark burning and then realizes her Master has finally come for her. Bellamort is hinted at if you look closely enough.
The Easy Part: Set in 1968. My take on how Arthur Weasley proposed to Molly Prewett. Features Cedrella, Septimus and Bilius Weasley.

Multi-Chapters I Will Be Posting in the Near Future:

'Moments' Series: This will be a series of one-shots/drabbles about a particular character from their childhood to their death. I intend on writing about the characters I find most complex and have a few in mind. The first will be Severus Snape (Ive got most of his finished and should be posting his Moments series by mid-November), Albus Dumbledore (I ship Grindeldore, and am very fascinated not only by their relationship but by Albuss life as a whole), Sirius Black, Barty Crouch Jr., and Lucius Malfoy. Snapes should be posted by mid-November, and once I finish the last chapter of his then Dumbledores will begin. I think it will make for interesting character study and hope youll enjoy them as much as Ill enjoy writing them.

The Noblest: Working title right now, subject to change. This is a multi-chapter based on the Black Sisters from their childhood together, Andromedas departure, Siriuss departure (Im sure it effected Bella and Cissy in some way), the Death Eaters and Bella & Luciuss involvement, Bella in Azkaban and Lucius escaping that same fate, and will go up to the end of the Battle of Hogwarts. Ill switch the views from all three sisters. Ive always been fascinated by the Black Sisters, as many are, and Im sure similar stories have been done before but Ive always wanted to do my own. I hope to have this up on here by sometime in December, as the Moments series and Enemies will take precedence.

Curse of the Horfelix: The sequel to Enemies, a Marauders-era fic but Slytherin-centric. Shows how many of the Slytherin students went over to the Dark Lord, will contain some OCs but less than Enemies, and will also include the Marauders and Lily/Alice/Mary/etc. Ill elaborate more on this once Enemies is complete, but I do have the majority of the story written and planned so once Enemies is done updates on the sequel will be rather frequent.

One-Shots to Be Published Soon:

Mortal Once More (COMING VERY SOON!): This one is already done and should be up by the end of October. It is the tale of Regulus Blacks decision to destroy the Dark Lords Horcrux, his thoughts and experiences that led him to this decision (including some missions with the Death Eaters), and the actual act of going into the cave and accepting his fate. Some of the details of this story tie into A Lovely Summers Day(see below), since that takes place shortly after Regulus has gone missing and is assumed dead.

A Lovely Summers Day: James/Lily. Like I said, this takes place shortly after Mortal Once More, and Regs disappearance/assumed death is mentioned. This is my take on how James and Lilys wedding went. This one should be up sometime in November as I just need to fine-tune it a bit and type it up into Word as its presently in my notebook.

So heres what to expect to be seeing added on here soon:

* The thing that slows me down MAJORLY when publishing is the editing. Im excellent at grammar and spelling, dont get me wrong, but Im not perfect and I do tend to miss things. Parting Words / Fic Recommendations

So, even though this is under construction, I ended up writing a ton anyway. Ah, the curse of being a writer! Anyway, thanks for checking out my profile, and I hope you like what I have written thus far! As Ive said on here countless times, there is much more to come!

As for recs, well, you can just check my Favorite Stories/Authors sections to get an idea of my favorites. I CAN, however, recommend the two all-time faves I have since I belong to the sub-fandoms that these amazing fics have created. Im sure most of you have heard of them anyway, but if you havent you MUST check them out! They are both located in my Favorite Stories sections.

The first is Thanfictions Dumbledores Army and the Year of Darkness, otherwise known as DAYD and the fandom is known by the DAYDverse. I belong to the DAYDverse Facebook comm where Thanfiction talks to us regularly about different parts of the 'verse, answers questions, (there are two more novels and countless one-shots in the 'verse, and Than has drawn so many of the different scenes in the novels and has even sketched every member of Nevilles DA!) etc. and there is also a Tumblr comm and a tumblr for Than where he answers questions and talks to the fans of his work. I could gush on and on about the DAYDverse and DAYD itself, because it is such a great work (it is from Nevilles POV and its about the year when Snape and the Carrows took over Hogwarts and the DA banded together stronger than ever not just to learn defensive spells, but to survive the Carrows' sick torture methods until Harry would return for the Final Battle). If you check it out, youll be hooked, I guarantee it.

The other fic I strongly recommend (if youre a Jily shipper I guarantee you know what Im about to say, -er, write) is The Life and Times by Jewels5. Jewels is an amazing writer who writes from Lily Evanss POV as she endures her sixth and seventh years of Hogwarts and the summer in between which are full of breakups, nasty Slytherins, Petunia and Vernon (need I elaborate? poor Lily), Snape trying to apologize for the Mudblood incident, falling in love, and so much more. Not only does she write about Lilys issues, but the problems facing the other characters like Frank&Alice, Marlene, Mary MacDonald, the Marauders (yes, they have issues as well, theyre not perfect like theyre described as in some other fics) and her OCs are incredible. If I werent writing my own Marauders-era fic (though mines more from the Slytherin side of the castle) it would be my head-canon for what happened through James and Lilys 6th/7th years.

Id also like to mention that there are two other authors on this site whose works I am absolutely addicted to (aside from the two authors whose fics I just mentioned), and I highly recommend reading their writing. Those authors are Gamma Orionis and Inkfire.
Inkfire is working on a multi-chapter Narcissa-centric fic called Sentimental Hearts where Narcissa is still in school and dealing with the stress of Andromeda having run away and Bellatrix getting into darker things. She also writes other amazing one-shots and stories that are wonderfully written; it takes me hours to pry myself away from her story list!
Gamma just writes absolutely fantastic Bellamort, and great fics in general. Especially if youre someone that enjoys smut, heheh. If youve never been interested in the Druella/Abraxas pairing before, you will after youve read her fics about them.
Those two are fantastic, and its writers like them that inspire me to keep writing so that one day hopefully Ill get even marginally close to how successful they are. They are both on my Favorite Authors tab as well, so check them out!

Once Im more established on this site and I have more friends and the like, Ill be able to recommend more stories for yall. As Im still sort of a "newbie" and I dont have many stories up, nor am I a member of any kind of forum, Im working on it.
