I enjoy a range of books across multiple genres, including Sci-Fi/Fantasy. Below are among my more recent favorites:

-- The Golden Compass - Philip Pullman (Loved the movie too! I have yet to read his other two books in series)

-- The Hobbit - J.R.R Tolkien (Looking forward to the movie. I have yet to read the Lord of The Rings Series)

-- The Reluctant Dragon - Kenneth Grahame (Although not named the dragon was actually quite comical in this book)

-- Jeremy Thatcher Dragon Hatcher - Bruce Coville (Ok I admit. I read this book because CP had mentioned it as one source of inspiration for Eragon. That aside the story was actually quite good!)

-- War Horse - Michael Morpurgo (Awesome story! What makes it even more amazing is that it's based on true events -- talk about a fated friendship in the midst of tragedy! I waited to see the movie first! Didn't want it spoiled by the book. It was actually very good -- it's Steven Spielberg how could it not be?)

-- Eragon's Guide to Alagaesia - Christopher Paolini (awesome!)

-- Dragon Keeper (Volume I of the Rain Wilds Chronicles) by Robin Hobb - Hard to follow at first, but gets allot more interesting from middle to end. I found this book to be chock full of light-hearted moments. Made me laugh quite a bit!

-- Dragon Haven (Volume II of the Rain Wilds Chronicles) by Robin Hobb

-- City of Dragons (Volume III of the Rain Wilds Chronicles) by Robin Hobb

Mmmm ... not really a big game player; however, I do occasionally play Dragons of Atlantis. A couple of my co-workers are fans of Skyrim (hmmm ... maybe one day I'll try it)

How I ended up starting "Chosen":

That actually has an interesting story behind it. Oddly enough I happened upon this site before I even read the first book in The Inheritance Cycle. The first story I read was The Future Begins (which by the way happens to be my favorite among favorites). I was so intrigued by the story that I bought the first three books as a set and then the fourth when it came out in Nov. 2011; all of them Kindle editions (Hmmm ... makes me wonder just how many others were inspired to buy CP's books because of The Future Begins. Maybe Fresh Blood should be getting referral fees from CP?).

I had already seen the movie, thank God! They changed the storyline so much that I was amazed! Had I read the book first the movie would have no doubt been disappointing.

Anyway, like so many other readers I thought Eragon and Saphira were perfect for each other. Odd you might say? Well there have been odder pairs: can anyone say Twilight? (no offense to Twilight fans).

I didn't actually make the decision to attempt writing this story until after I read the The Uncertain Future (my second favorite among favorites) which was published shortly after book 4 came out. Being that CP didn't end the fourth book with an ExS I, like other writers on this site, decided to write a story where they are together. One that continued from book 4. And that's pretty much it :)
