In the Classic episode "Immunity Syndrome," Spock felt the death of 400 Vulcans on a nearby ship so strongly that McCoy had to escort him off of the bridge. When the Narada destroyed Vulcan, billions died. There have to be long-term, serious consequences to that, especially for Spock, who shipped off with the Enterprise almost right away. Of course, they are classically clue-less while this is happening, and Uhura has to help get things moving in the right direction. This is ultimately a mild rewrite of the movie, I am just hiding it in FanFiction form.

Lately Kirk has been failing to be the overly-dramatic, charismatic leader that the crew knows and loves. He walks as though there is a weight on his shoulders and his eyes are dark and serious. SPOILERS: Kirk's final words were not what he intended them to be, he was cut short of his final reveal. That he loves Spock, and he doesn't know when it happened or why it happened, but he does know without a doubt that it is true. Now all he has to do is find a way to tell the man without ruining their friendship. Oh, and try to get Spock to love him back.

His hands clenched around the tricorder they were holding. Looking frantically at him was a pair of electric blue eyes. He could've cried right then and there at the sight of his best friend looking back at him. Missing scenes from STID.
