April 10, 2018 Update

Today is the 4th anniversary of my posting my first chapter of my first story ever! To mark the occasion, I have written a quick little ficlet called "The Anniversary". I banged it out on a borrowed MacBook, sitting in my hotel room in NYC, looking out the window at the roof sign of the St. James Theater, where we saw "Frozen the Musical". It was wonderful and magic and worth every penny I spent on the trip, so if you're wondering if it is something you'd like, I highly recommend it!

I decided to do a little shameless self-promotion on my tumblr, grrlgeek dot tumblr dot com.

I've created several posts that have the cool pictures for my "Worthy Queen of Greatness" Trilogy. Also my other stories. Since they don't contain any links, you can use the tumblr search function to pull them up. Just search on 'grrlgeek's fanfiction'. As a bonus, it will pop up the picture of the coat of arms with Olaf on it from "Walk in the Park".

Update -- May 15, 2017

It's been slightly more than three years since I started writing Frozen Fanfiction. Unfortunately, my muse is on vacation since I finished "In the Reign of Queen Anna of Arendelle". However, I feel some stirring, so maybe I just need a kick in the pants.

Unfortunately, tumblr has decided to be hinky and won't return posts with links in them if you try to search on tags. That's bad, because my posts generally have the really cool artwork that I commissioned for my fiction.

In any case, welcome, and please read and review my stories. I'm looking forward to the Denver opening of the Frozen Broadway musical, which will be coming in August.

For some reason, fanfiction dot net has decided to break all the links to my tumblr. Rats. For whatever reason, all links now simply circle back to this profile. Now that I have ten 14 16 19 stories written in the 'Frozen' universe, with #11 being a crossover with Big Hero 6, I think my writing style is pretty well established. If you like plot-driven stories with frohana, ice bros, and snow sisters, you have come to the right place.

Where Did Joan of Arc Go? In chapter 5 of Verðug dróttning stór, Anna speculates on where the portrait of Joan of Arc disappeared to. In Chapter 7, we find out. Here's two screen caps that show the picture really is missing.

What's a skolebrød? In chapter 2 of Verðug dróttning stór, Anna and Elsa enjoy this pastry! I got pictures at EPCOT!

Elsa and Marshmallow in "Do The Magic!" This one I actually did myself, and let me tell you, getting Elsa out of the original picture was a pain, what with that dress and all. At least the lighting is coming from the same direction for both of them...

I'm a retired GIRL geek who's been around since 300 baud modems were the Hot New Thing. Spent 34 years in a professional career that mostly involved computers and such stuff. Wanted to be a nuclear physicist when I was 10. Needless to say, in 1960, this upset the nuns. I've spent my whole life ignoring the 'girls don't do math and science' meme, so that's my connection to Elsa.

Hadn't read fanfic since Xena and Gabrielle were all the rage. (Am I the only one who thinks Anna from Frozen has a lot of Gabrielle in her? Red hair, check. Feisty, check. Born ready, check. Elsa is most definitely NOT Xena though. Although they are both awesome in their own unique way.)

Didn't see 'Frozen' until the DVD came out. Was vaguely aware of it, particularly after the Oscars. OMG! I can't believe how strongly this movie has struck a chord in me. Elsa is my hero. She is one badass Queen of Arendelle.

Here's what you won't see in my stories: Incest. Explicit sex (Second base is not explicit sex!). A love interest for Elsa.(Tadelsa is a one shot for me, and it won't be all that mushy.)(Unless she needs to provide an heir for Arendelle herself because Anna isn't available ...) A major new character on a par with the ones from the movies. More characters with magic powers. A modern setting. Baristas. Any crossovers(*cough/Jedi/cough*)(*cough/Tears of a Queen/cough*), although an episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer triggered a story idea in my head.

(*sigh*) I've violated almost all of those. Still won't do incest, ever, though. And modern AU's don't make much sense to me, either. The stories I have in my head are still mostly in the 'canon' Frozen universe.

Not that I don't enjoy stories with those elements. My headcanon just doesn't roll that way, so my stories can't have them. YMMV, as they say on the Internet.

Here's what IS in my headcanon, the stuff you will see in my stories:

1. Who had a really traumatic life growing up. They made a movie about it. And she's still emotionally fragile.
2. And she has a little sister who would die for her. Oh, wait, she has!
3. After 13 years of separation, the sisters have a powerful need for hugs, just to know that this is not a dream. Expect a lot of sleepovers. As they heal and become more comfortable with each other, the sleepovers will diminish. Won't ever go away completely though.
4. Did I mention she has the magic power of controlling and creating snow and ice? Yeah, that.
5. And she will never have a love interest in my stories. Or a child. Olaf is enough to handle. (Update: okay, Kristoff doesn't count in 'Death of a Princess'.)
6. And although she has powerful magic, she is a young woman vulnerable to being harmed by conventional means. Particularly if someone figures out a way to neutralize her powers.
7. As the queen grows in her duties, she will face challenges. Including the moral dilemmas inherent in ruling.

1. A civilian gendarmerie, a police force if you will.
2. The castle guard. This force protects the castle and royals. We saw these guys in the movie.
3. The Queen's Own Guard. A special force within the castle guard that are the bodyguards of the royal family. Only the very best and most loyal make it into the Queen's Own. Considering that their duty is to die to protect her from harm, this is hardly surprising.
4. The Royal Arendelle Navy, because Arendelle's economy is based on maritime commerce and trade.
5. The Royal Arendelle Marines. Arendelle does not have an army. The Marines fill that role. Primarily based on board ships, they can and do fight on land as well.

My avatar is now from the 'Frozen Fever' teaser trailer. The fandom went nuts when it showed up on Good Morning America.

When reading my stories, when it looks darkest for the Two Terrible Sisters of Arendelle, just remember that I ship [Elsa X Happiness]. It just may take a while to get there.
