![]() Author has written 15 stories for Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Scarlet Pimpernel. Welcome to the second edition of my bio… I’ll be honest: I hate writing profiles on myself, since I rarely seem to be able to come up with anything half approaching significant to say about myself (though there must be something profound to be said, I’m sure…-g-). However, it’s been years since I updated this, and since I always enjoy reading a bit about other authors, I thought I should say something. But I make no guarantees that this renovated version will be any more entertaining than my last one… :) That said, I won’t ramble on too much about myself (if you have should have a desperate need to hear more about me, you could check out the link to my LJ account, listed below :)). I’m a Christian homeschooler from the USA. My usual online nicknames are "Nef" or "Neffy". I love the color green. I love being out in God’s creation, especially in the woods which I'm blessed to have surrounding my family's home. I love animals--personal zoo now includes: a hopelessly narcissistic, mirror-obsessed budgie, two adorable monster!kitties, and a dog who's appointed himself daddy cat ever since he discovered the aforementioned kitties in our woods. I love way too many “fandoms”. It’s ridiculous how many I’ve collected. And yet, I continue to be pathetically easily persuaded into joining even more--so go right ahead try me. :) Primarily, though, you’ll find my focus, especially fanfiction-wise, always returning by “default” to The Lord of the Rings. I’ve loved Tolkien’s books since I was about eight (I’m presently eighteen), and plan on continuing to write Aragorn and Legolas friendship stories predominantly. One of these days, however, my original fantasy story may temporarily whisk me away (I’ve been working on it since I was fifteen, though you wouldn’t know it to look at the quantity), but I would still hope to continue doing some fanfiction as well. I’ve enjoyed the experience of writing and reading fanfiction, and it’s taught me so much. The encouragement I’ve received on this site has also been phenomenal, and definitely one of the key reasons I continue to write. About updates: My Muse may be temperamental, and prone to wander, but I usually manage to get back on track fairly quickly if I put my mind to it. However, as a rule I finish writing multi-chapter stories before posting them. Partly that’s for the sake of my own nerves, since I don’t think I’d do well with the pressure of trying to figure out a plot in all its intricacies while posting. Also, considering my Muse’s temperament, I don’t think it would be fair to readers to start something and be unable to finish. ;) So, when you see me start posting something, you can rest assured I'm not going to abandon you halfway. Even if I should die in the middle of posting, my sister knows where I keep my stories, and will see to it that you get the rest. -g- I want to give a special thanks to Cassia and Siobhan, authors of the beloved Mellon Chronicles, for inspiring me to write, and for allowing me to use their characters. You can visit their amazing website at: http: Alternate account on this site: Sweet Anonymity -- http://www.fanfiction.ws/u/1236615/ -- I’ll be using this account to post stories for my more “fickle fandoms”, as it were. :) They’re fandoms that I love very, very dearly, but will most likely not end up writing a ton of stories for (as I do with LotR) unless I receive some kind of a sign from readers that they’d really like more, and/or I have more inspiration. (I already have a couple stories posted under Nefhiriel that I would have posted here if I’d had the idea before—i.e. my PotC and Scarlet Pimpernel stories.) SoA account: Nefhiriel -- http:///author.asp?AuthID=2190 -- I'm archiving some of my stories here, as well (but, so far, any stories posted there will have been posted here first). Sites: http:/// -- forum for the S.N.W.C.G.—Society for Nerve-Wracked Computer Ghosts (referring to the way we haunt our computers after posting). If you get nervous about posting or showing other people stories/fanfiction you’ve written, or artwork, then come and join us! Our goal is to encourage each other in our various artistic endeavors, and help all of us overcome our nervousness and become better writers and artists in a safe, friendly environment. http:/// -- my LiveJournal account. --Caution: posts may be eccentric and random in nature.-- But I’d love to talk to you. :) |
