I have this slight fascination (as if) for the grotesque. So I had decided to browse 'round the net looking for some of the most atrocious fanfictions available in this world (link: http:///2010/01/tr_special_the_10_most_face-meltingly_awful_fan_fi.php) And I found some rather disturbing content... (there are other sites, but honestly, I was too disgusted to even search for any more)

According to the site, the following criteria for bad fanfic are these:

• Criminal Depravity: The more absurdly unnatural and inhuman things that happen in the fan fiction, the higher this rating. Literal crimes were a good start, but given FFF, this also had to encompass crimes against humanity, nature, and the universe.
• Degree of Non-Consent: FFF is notorious for authors who have characters mysteriously enjoying what they're doing, regardless of the insanity of it. More terrifying to us were those authors who faithfully portrayed their victims as terrified and unwilling. The more screamingly tortured a victim is, the more we shuddered and cried to ourselves.
• Graphic Detail/Vividness: Depravity is one thing, but portraying it in a way that lets the reader more accurately imagine the horror is... nauseating. We didn't want to see textures, smells, little sensations. Christ. I'm already getting flashbacks.
• Plausibility: Nothing is plausible about FFF. Well, except maybe Yoda drinking tequila and screwing "hoes." However, when a fan fiction happens to remember its source material, portray its characters in a semi-believable way, and not throw in too much crazy crap, it honestly gets worse.
• Quality of Writing: To us, a FFF truly jumps the line from "ew" to "oh god why won't my head explode?" when the author actually seems to possess some ability to write. In a way, the crappy FFF writers can be laughed off as incapable of producing anything else, but it's the ones that have the opportunity to make something better but still make noxious, deranged crap that really disturb us.
• Length of Opus: This is fairly self-explanatory. A few paragraphs of violent Candyland sadism is bad, but the novel-length Dalek Invasion of Earth weighed far, far heavier on our souls.
• Bonus points: We gave special points to any FFF that featured snuff, the vile abuse of beloved childhood characters, or wrongness on a level so terrible that the English language fails to describe it satisfactorily (which was roughly half of them).

And surprisingly, there's a ton of these floating out there, just waiting to be red and cried upon. In fact, there's the top ten worst? How bad could it possibly be? I mean, I'll never look at bloody freaking Rainbow Dash the same way ever again!

Very bad.

I assure thee that the fanfics I'll be writing will not be as terrifying as those monstrosities.

Hopefully. Unless I want fame on 4chan or or something, and be known for being part of the ranks of sickos who enjoy gorn and shiz….

Currently obsessed with RWBY. Let's see how I deal with that...

PS: I am a big-ass hypocrite who claims to hate gorn and still read Blood Rose by Rapey Lemons (excellent story though), and although I saw the appeal, it was far too dark for me and I can no longer think 'Ruby Rose' without seeing her tear out a Faunus boy's heart and garner sexual pleasure from it.

Now excuse me while I go search for pictures of cute animals... preferably not being eaten by Ruby.

Oh, and my favorite RWBY ships

1. White Rose (Ruby Rose x Weiss Schnee): My #1 favorite ship. They have great chemistry, and the dolt plus the rich tsundere (if Weiss is one) is a great love story. I recommend Bedside Manner by Orion Matrix for this ship; Weiss may be a little OOC, but its so adorable, and it was one of the first fics that brought me onto SS White Rose, also Soulbound by xT-Zealot, Snowy Vale by elfenlied1012 and Unfinished Fairy Tale by Raziel12. Looking for others? Just type it in the search engine, you'll get a TON, though you'll have to really dig to get to the good ones.

2. Bumblebee (Yang Xiao Long x Blake Belladonna): I love these two just as much I love White Rose. Heck, even their voice actors ship them. And I can totally see Yang constantly cuddling with Blake (makes you wonder who the cat really is) and petting her ears and Blake's either purring or reading or something. Yes, Karakuri Replica is secretly a hopeless romantic who's addicted to fluff (and maybe a little smut... ehehehe). Recommends Ghost of a Chance by myheartisfilledwithbees on AO3 (Archive of Our Own) and Need Me Too by Pulping, also on AO3.

3. Crosshares (Coco Adel x Velvet Scarlatina): Must I really explain??? You can go scroll dooooown if you'd like a fic :3

4. Melting Ice Cream (Cinder Fall x Neo/Neopolitan): I have a thing for crack ships, okay? I have no fanfic to recommend since these two are so damn obscure but seriously, they would be good together. Horribly dysfunctional, but good. PS: Made up the ship name on the spot. Yea or nah?

5. Team Sloth (Lie Ren x Nora Valkyrie): Good dysfunctional with pancakes? Good dysfunctional with pancakes. Plus sloths. I recommend It's Time to Say Goodbye by TobiasHawk1, as it is one of the best and most feel-punching depictions of grief and moving on I've ever seen, plus the implied Renora and stuff. Well, it's only for those who like getting punched in the heart anyway, but it's still bootiful.

6. Sea Monkeys (Sun Wukong x Neptune Vasilias): Yeah, I am both fudanshi (yuri) and fujoshi (yaoi). Though I obviously lean more on yuri, there's nothing like good ole' boy on boy action between our two favorite SSSN boys now, eh? Besides, they're cute together and make for some amusing couple fights. And the make-up sex- *gets thrown out of window and screams out recommendations while flying through the air* I recommend Juxtaposition by Freelancerkiwi, The Fool by Meteorga and Bliss by Meteorga again!!!! All on AO3!!!!!!

Our friend, inspiration and co-worker Monty Oum passed away yesterday afternoon at 4:34 PM surrounded by people who loved him very much. Ten days ago Monty suffered a severe allergic reaction during a simple medical procedure that left him in a coma. Although he fought bravely, his body was not able to recover. During his time in the hospital he was well cared for and never in pain at any time.

Monty is survived by his wife Sheena, his father Mony, his brothers Woody, Sey, Chivy and Neat, and his sisters Thea and Theary, as well as a countless number of fans and friends. We were so proud to be a part of his life and we will miss him greatly.

Your generosity during the hours after the public statement on Friday will help his family deal with the costs of his care and his passing. You made an incredible difference during a difficult time and we cannot thank you enough.

As for honoring Monty, we will do that in our own way. In lieu of flowers or gifts, we ask that you simply do something creative. Use your imagination to make the world a better place in any way that you can. If you know Monty like we do, then you know he would certainly be doing that if he were able to.

Monty was 33 years old.

We love you, Monty.

You know what really sucks?

It was my birthday too.

Now all my fellow fandom dwellers think I'm cursed.

Plus, my birthday wish was for him to get well again.

FML you guys. But life goes on, and I'm making honorary art and fanfic for Monty and I hope that his DDR conquests in heaven go swimmingly.

NEW UPDATE ON MY NEWEST FANDOM:

So I started watching PMMM/Puella Magi Madoka Magica after seeing Kyouko's picture on the nightcore version of 'Let It Burn', watched the show, read the fanfictions, made up my conspiracy theories, brainstormed and made my ships. I fell absolutely in love, although RWBY will always be my first and foremost love because everything in PMMM went delightfully downhill by Ep 3 (goodbye Mami) and although I am a little miffed on the fact that I have to re-edit my current Coco/Velvet fic because their [CFVY] last names have been revealed already.

Back to topic, I really like the way Urobutcher- I mean, Urobuchi deconstructed the magical girl series, and found his way of seriously misleading us with cutesy art and the cutesy soundtrack very clever, because when I read the comments on the 'Let It Burn' video, I was at first confused by the 'brutal anime' comments despite Kyouko's cute appearance. I decided to watch it and bam, understood why it was brutal. Brutal on my heart and soul. Especially Sayaka's 'Decretum'.

Then I watched Rebellion and totally lost it.

I was so deeply ingrained into their community that it would be safe to say that I was totally suckered in and was given the maximum amount of damage when someone died. My friend merely shook her head and said, "Welcome to the void, fellow PMMM comrade."

Welcome to the void indeed.

PS: I ship HomuMado and KyouSaya so hard I think Ruby, Weiss, Blake and Yang are jealous XD Mami is clearly forever alone unless you guys want some loli pairing with her and Nagisa
