1/22/11- Happy (Belated) New Year minna-san! For those of you reading 'When I'm Gone' I am so terribly sorry that there have been no updates lately. I have a brutally busy schedule and it's that evil and vicious time of the semester when finals are looming, term papers are due, and presentations must be put together and given. *Sigh* I'm so disappointed too. I had the first half of the next chapter finished already, but then school hijacked me. Shitsureshimasu.

Please don't give up on me! I swear I'll try to get it done and over to Raphfreak for betaing but just don't be surprised if it takes a week or two with everything that's going on.

About Me:

I'm now 23 and I am attending college in Hawaii. However as of October 2010 I am participating in a study abroad program in Japan. YAY! I've wanted to go abroad since I was in middle school but for various reasons never got the chance to do so until now. While here I plan to try to get into either the Kendo or Kyuudo (Japanese archery) clubs at my university. Or both if I can make time for them.

I still love sci-fi, fantasy, action adventure, comedy, mystery, and anime! I ride horses and plan to import a showjumper from Europe to compete with as soon as I'm done with college and have a job to support it. Other hobbies include Chung-do-Quan martial arts (finally got my black belt, woot!), medievalism, cosplay, calligraphy, ballet, archery, amv-making and reading as much as I can. Aside from martial arts I also do weapons. I've worked with the bo, done some Kendo, and have recently taken up the sai (which are so much fun /grin/).

I started out writing LOTR fanfiction, and now I've now branched out to several anime and some tv shows and comics. My stories are mostly action adventure, supernatural, fantasy, and I guess a bit of mystery. I don't like being serious and angsty 24/7, and I love to laugh, so I make an attempt to put as many comic relief scenes in without ruining the overall mood and emotional effect of the story. I guess it's just my way of trying to show that there is always a lighter side to things, even if I'm torturing the hell out of the characters, lol. Many of the LOTR ones are also AU, but I faithfully stick to not changing Tolkien's ultimate end of the Fellowship of the Ring as much as I can. I try to include as many major characters as I can, but the ones that stand out the most are our beloved Three Hunters, Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli. Legolas out of the three is my favorite, and it may show in some of my story plots. However I still try to give other characters major roles, and am developing plots for future stories where other characters not only play a major part, but are also at the center of the plot itself.

In recent times I've been getting a little nostalgic and revisiting a lot of the shows I used to love as a kid, and have rekindled an old love for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Back when I was a kid I loved Donatello because purple was my fave color and that's the color mask he wore. However as an adult my faves are Leo and Raph. I share a lot of character traits with Leo (like honor, patience, the kind of maturity you'd expect in someone a decade or more older than me, and perfectionism), and I'm the eldest of three children so I definitely know what it's like to be expected to be in charge and the frustration that ensues when one's younger siblings decide they totally don't care, lol.

At the same time, I had a really rough ride through my teenage years that led to me becoming a bit dark and cynical. Honor is for the dojo, not the streets where people looking to start shit with you won't hesitate to kick you when you're down or get you when you're not looking. One should not start a fight but feel free to finish it if someone else decides they suddenly have the right to try to hurt you, or people you care about. And of course any mistakes I make or flaws that I have will be held against me at all times, no matter what I do. And I'm expected by some to snap and end up with serious anger issues cause my father had them. God forbid I have a bad day like a normal person, lol. The fact that I do have a temper doesn't help, no matter how hard I work to control it. And of course I'm no one's Golden Child. I'm the one who's had to fight tooth and nail for every accomplishment, and then gets to hear about how someone else did it better. I have a tendency to very protective of people whether I want to or not, love to worry about the world's problems (something I work very hard to suppress so I don't drive myself insane worrying about shit I can't control), am extremely passionate and loyalty? Hah! I've gotten hurt way more times than I'd care to admit cause I will put up with a lot of shit from people before I call it quits... In a nutshell I'm pretty much what Splinter accuses Raph of being in the 2007 movie. This is probably why I tend to identify with Raph just as much if not a bit more than Leo.

At any rate, get ready to see a lot of TMNT fics from me pretty soon. They'll be set in the 2007 movie setting, but I'll be referencing stuff from the 2003 cartoon series cause they had some good stuff in there. Except for the Fast Forward season. Some of the stuff they had was cute and entertaining, and I loved the fact that all of the turtles seemed to be on a more level playing field. Seeing Raph and Mikey save the day just as much as Leo was awesome, since it seemed like the previous seasons were all about how amazing Leo was, and how everyone always looked second rate compared to him. Don was the only one that alternatively got to look awesome by the sheer fact that he's the resident tech whiz. But despite this there was a lot that I thought was kinda lame (the entire episode 24, 'The Cosmic Completist' anyone?). Oh, and "It's ninja time!" is NOT an acceptable battle cry under any circumstances. EVER.

Oh, for those of you looking for updates for my LOTR fics that haven't been touched in the last couple of years: They are still not abandoned, HOWEVER, they will not be updated again until they have been completed. This is to prevent my muse from leaving you hanging because she got more interested in other fics. Also, Sindarin Fox needs a total overhaul anyway.

Additionally: Part of the reason I stopped writing for so long was due to someone plagiarizing 'Where Will You Go'. Thankfully, some awesome readers alerted me to this other story they claimed was a rip off of mine, and both myself and my beta went and read said accused story. The readers were right and fortunately the culprit took down their fic without me having to get the site admins involved. Unfortunately for the rest of you, this killed my desire to write for a while, and by the time I got it back, I pretty much lost the inspiration I'd had for the story. The point is: A. These characters and worlds and stuff found in cannon may not be mine, but the plot and any OCs are. Steal them and I will hold you accountable for it. and B: A huge belated thanks to those who alerted me to the problem, you guys are the best!

I apologize to my readers for having to suffer through the lack of writing with me (if any of you out there still remember me, lol) and here's hoping that such a thing will never drive my muse off again.

Fic Status Report: It's just occurred to me how pathetically few fics I actually have posted on here. I've probably got at least twenty fics for various fandoms outlined, and only three unfinished ones on here. It's sad, really. -sigh- Oh well. I'll just have to start remedying that, ne? Bet you'd all love that. -grin-

Where Will You Go: Ah, yes. The fic that several years after the last update, I'm still getting nagged to continue. Please keep nagging me! I'm serious, that *expletive* person who ripped it off sent me into total writer's block. The fact that I lost ninety percent of the the half-finished chapter I had in a hard drive crash didn't help any. If anyone who knows both books and movies well (and has acceptable--read as very good-- grammar and spelling skills) wants to be a beta on this one, please let me know! I've asked before but got no response. One of my best friends, Skylark, is my usual beta, but she'll be the first to tell you she's not super familiar with LOTR. If memory serves me correctly she's never read the books and has only seen part of the movies. So yea, I'd love for someone to give me help so this poor bunny can FINALLY be finished. If not I'll just fight on by my lonesome.

Sindarin Fox: Awww. my first fic ever posted... That brings back such memories. Actually you'd probably be interested to know that this one, unlike 'Where Will You Go', is more or less completely outlined. Along with two sequels, if not three as memory serves. Sadly I'm not at home where the bulk of my written notes on it are, but it will likely be much easier for me to finish since I at least have something for my muse to go on. However it will be a while. First the poor thing needs a total makeover. I tried reading it and oh dear, I was horrified at how immature my writing style was back then.

A Yuletide Carol: This is yet another one that needs some TLC to bring the writing style up to par, and then it should be more or less the easiest of my posted fics to finish off. Maybe that'll be my holiday project for this year. I've been trying to brainstorm one after all.

I really should be studying, since I'm in the middle of finals right about now, but I couldn't take it anymore and had to finally let the muse out and finish it. Survivor: (This is a plotbunny I adopted from Raphfreak, who has so kindly agreed to beta my TMNT fics. A big shout-out to such an amazing author. As far as I know I'm the third person to take a crack at this fic. At the moment the title is only tentative. I believe one of the other authors adopting this bunny has kept its name the same, so to avoid confusion I'll probably change it as soon as I can come up with something better.) After Raph and Casey ruin a very expensive weapons shipment for the Purple Dragons, Hun decides he's had enough. He hires a crazy big game hunter who's looking for his next challenge to get rid of the vigilantes once and for all. When Raph finds himself ambushed and wakes up dumped in a remote region of the Rocky Mountains, it becomes quickly apparent that he's going to need all the skill and training he's got if he's going to survive not only the trophy hunter after him, but mother nature as well.

(Title to be decided): Connie Nervegas has issued a most delightful challenge on Stealthy Stories based on the old Victorian fear of being buried alive with no way out except to hope that someone gets to you before you run out of air. This challenge will probably get two responses from me, one for Leo and one for Raph. However, both are in queue behind the 'Survivor' challenge since that at least has an outline and a chapter written for it already.
