Status Updates

I was on hiatus for a few months in late 2019 for personal health/family reasons but things have gotten better and I can get back to writing more!

Introductions

I'll start with some introductions. My name is Tozarius and I am a fan of anime like so many other authors on this site. The Dragonball franchise is held high in my list of favorite anime so my stories will most likely revolve around it. I am an older fan since Dragonball Z was the first anime I remember watching when Toonami began airing on Cartoon Network. It was a kid's favorite thing to watch after coming home from school and getting homework out of the way. The first thing I remember seeing was watching a little boy thrown into the wilderness with a green monster, slowly turned ally, as his tutor while some spiky haired weirdo traveled a snake path high in the clouds. Those were my initial thoughts and I was hooked from there on. I know the tropes, parodies, and cheesy stuff that came with this show but I still enjoyed it then and continue to enjoy it today. That includes the sequel Super version. And no, I am not a fan of the GT version. While I give it credit for trying, in my opinion, Yamcha's winning streak rates higher than that series.

I have been reading fan fiction for Dragonball (and Z) for many years but never thought to write my own until recently. Hopefully I can make some good stories as I have many ideas revolving in my head but I need to sort them out to be coherent.

Feedback

Ok so let's get the ugly stuff out of the way next. I will appreciate positive feedback as the stories I write take form and develop. I may take ideas from readers into consideration but at the same time do not be disappointed if I don't use your idea. Ultimately these are my stories and I can do whatever I want with them just like any other author on this site. If I do incorporate your idea in some way into my own stories, I will of course give credit to you as a thanks for helping me move the story along.

At this point I am going to be blunt to all those who get upset and send nasty feedback in their reviews. If you don't like it, don't read it and go somewhere else. There are over 50,000 Dragonball Z stories on this site so there may be someone out there who tells it in a manner you like better. You could also tell me something that may not be to your liking and explain why. Don't just say "This sucks!" or "This is stupid!" and leave it at that. Why did it suck? What could I have done better? What don't you agree with? Etc... You can criticize my work but make it beneficial so that I can take the feedback and improve my writing. Like I said above, I don't have to listen to anyone but since I am writing to share with others it only makes sense to hear some feedback. Just don't be a jerk.

Favorites from the Series

Since my works devote to Dragonball in its various forms, I guess I should list favorite things of mine from the series.

My favorite character is Gohan. We've seen Goku grow from a kid to adult like his son but Gohan shows the most development to me. Goku has always been a fighter and lives for a challenge. Gohan didn't start out that way. He was kind of a brat with a good heart and needed to be toughened up. By the Cell Saga this clearly comes full circle. After that...well, I can't say I like it but at the same time I can see it being in Gohan's character to be a scholar, fight crime, be ridiculous in a hero outfit...eh, it was still humorous.

Least favorite character: Well, pretty much anyone from the GT series. They all seem to be carbon copies of the Z series at best, and at worst they are former shells of what use to be better characters. Sorry, GT fans but I'd rather listen to Hercule Satan boasting how he defeated Cell over 9,000 times than watch GT for 5 minutes (or in Freiza terms 20 some episodes).

Favorite fights: Depends on the series.

Least favorite episodes:

Dragonball: End of the 22nd WMAT where Krillin is killed off screen. I wanted to see him give it his all.

Dragonball Z: Garlic Jr. Saga; not knocking the cool fight scenes but continuity is questionable in general, mixed feelings on Kami's dilemma, and it was a Gohan bashing until the very end. I'd rather have seen Goku's story while on Yardrat.
