Author has written 4 stories for G. I. Joe. Thought an update was in order now that I have more than half a story posted. My stories are best read in order, Book of the Dead and then Saving the World. Although they are stand alone stories, there are hints of plot in the first that get fleshed out more in the second. I kind of always saw things as a trilogy and am currently starting the process to get the next story up and running. I do tend to write longer stories and realize it's more of a commitment to get into them. Saving the World actually was supposed to be much shorter- it was written on a dare that I couldn't develop a plot based on the people who hand out samples by the metro. (I'm always leery of taking any offered samples because of this very scenario. I'm told it's highly implausible. Still, I'm not taking any chances. Lady who offered me a full size Snapple- no thanks!) But as I posted, more ideas came and the plot expanded. In the first planned version, Tomax was only in one chapter. I think he's way too fascinating of a character and hope to post some (much shorter) stories where he makes more appearances. Meet the Brothers is on its own just hanging out. It doesn't fit into the universe of the other two; it was just something fun to put down and mirrors the exploits of a friend as he tried to gain admittance to the State Theatre to see Les Zeppelin. Apparently many a man has gone to great effort to get into a Les Zeppelin show, or so I'm told. Posting the stories here is just fun. It's awesome that there's this whole site where we can read and share. Guess I'm a geek that way. I tend to post as chapters are ready and apologize for any missteps in words or deed that a careful editor may have spotted. Thanks to everyone for providing such a great indulgence. Reviews are always appreciated, good and bad. The praise keeps you going and the critique makes you strive to be more. As for me, I'm a transplanted Chicagoan living in DC, well, outside DC now. Moved to Virginia, which still seems crazy. Never thought I'd leave the awesome Midwest. Central Time Zone is the best. They say write what you know, so I can't help but put some hometown references in. Thanks again for checking out my stories and hope you enjoy. |
