I love to read fantasy and science fiction, and being a grad student in the field of psychology with a back ground in anthropology I am especially interested in stories with complex characters and/or vivid interaction with the story world. When I beta-read, I look for consistency in the events of the story as well as consistency within the characters themselves. Second to that, I look at how a piece flows, what it says to the read. My expectations for a piece is that a moderate amount of proof-reading has been done already to eliminate the most grievous grammatical errors. I don't mind correcting a little grammar, but if I suspect you haven't read back over it at all, I shall be cross with you and I will not be able to give you the best impression of your story.

My areas of specialty are culture and psychology, so I am better at checking characters for "Mary Sue"-ness and believeability. Also, I can give you an opinion about whether your characters seem to be a cohesive and interactive part of the world you have set up for them or whether they seem more like actors in front of a painted backdrop. So, in short, I'm best at reality checking, and I enjoy providing balanced criticism (what you did well as well as what you need work on)

As I said, I don't mind checking a little grammar, but I am far from the best grammar nazi on earth, so sometimes mistakes slip by me.

You will get the best response out of me for Dragon Age and Skyrim stories. Beyond that, I have a limited knowledge of most things fantasy and sci-fi. I prefer stories that have a little bit of everything: action, romance, and drama.

Please do not send me extremely graphic slash. A little fluff verging into graphic, is fine (I'm an adult, I can handle it), but I get grumpy if the entire focus of a story is erotica.
