![]() Author has written 15 stories for Dragon Age, and Elder Scroll series. 9/3/15 - Academia is a hell of a drug. But, I'm not dead. Between finishing up school and getting some original work off to be published, I haven't had a lot of time for fanfic and the stress of getting a novel out gave me a monster case of writers block to work through. I do, however, plan to finish Renegade and Beyond the Storm (I mean, how could I not? The action was just starting to heat up.) I've also got a finished Dragon Age work, The Knight's Suit, that I'll be posting weekly as I get the editing done. Apologies to anyone I haven't responded to. Meatspace just does that to you sometimes. About me: I am a big ol' nerd with a penchant for fantasy, an old school D&D player, and a history recreation buff. I'm also a cross-disciplinary doctoral student, so forgive me if my posting schedule is irregular and I miss some things in proofing. I have limited time to work on fun stuff, unfortunately. Giving and receiving concrit: I enjoy getting feedback and constructive criticism of my work. It's a great feeling when someone takes the time to try to help, especially if they know how to critique well. I also like to help other people, so feel free to PM me and I will be happy to work with you as my time allows. When I critique, either in a hobby setting or through work, I always include both positive and negative comments. I feel like both are integral to helping another writer/artist foster their craft. Not all creative works are perfect or even very good, but I've yet to read any piece of writing that did not include at least one thing I thought that the author did well and it's those things, no matter how small, that I want them build from. Harsh criticism has its place, but I personally feel like honesty tempered with kindness and empathy is the way to go. I will note, however, that I am a casual fanfic writer. I nitpick my original and professional work and I use the practice to create better work in general, but I write fanfic mostly for the fun and relaxation of it. To that effect, folks, this is supposed to be fun. There is a point where it can be taken too seriously. Active Wicked Grace: The Knight's Suit - Dragon Age - I tend to write more female PoV characters than males, so I wanted to practice something else for a bit. Also, I just adore Blackwall. I'm a blushing, swooning fangirl of the worst kind for Blackwall. Renegade - Skyrim - I wanted to play with a different type of character for awhile, so an unscrupulous criminal ought to be fun. Updated approximately whenever I have a chapter done. Beyond the Storm - Skyrim - The sequel to Between Empires and Legends. A few people requested one, but I wanted to hold off on writing anything about the Moot until I was sure Bethesda wasn't going to put out a DLC about it. Since they claim they're done with work on Skyrim, I have a few ideas in how to fill in some of the more interesting gaps in their timeline. Forthcoming None at present. On Hold Indefinitely Fledgeling - Skyrim - Got side-tracked with school and I'm going to have to play through the Riften quests again. Hearts and Minds - Dragon Age - I still plan on finishing this one, but I'm having trouble maintaining authorial distance from the narrative, so I'm putting it on the back burner for awhile. Story Sequences (in chronological order) Aenora Hawke series (Dragon Age) Nora is the result of my first playthrough of DA2, because I tend to favor paladin-like characters. She's your pretty stereotypical "white knight", but I wanted to explore her human side as well. Hearts and Minds - Always - Fallen Gallica Dragonborn series (Skyrim) This began as a one shot concept piece, but it kept sucking me in and people were enjoying it, so I finished the first story and have now started on the second installation. I really enjoy writing this character and being in her head. I may write a prequel at some point to flesh out what happened leading up to Between Empires and Legends, and if Beyond the Storm goes well, I have enough material in mind for a final installment later. Between Empires and Legends - Beyond the Storm Kink-Meme Fills I mean, it can't all be squeaky clean, can it? ;) Lion of My Heart - Dragon Age - Gaspard de Chalons/Inquisitor Trevelyan - Gaspard gets a bad name among the fan-base, but I tend to prefer him to Celene and I liked the idea of playing off of his aggression and chivalric code. Miscellany Renegade - Skyrim - I write too many goody-two-shoes characters, so this time I wanted to write a "likeable bastard". I swear to Odinn that I'm going to finish this piece at some point. The Gift - Skyrim - A one-shot piece that turned into a three-chapter set by popular demand. I always seem to make Galmar out to be a bad person, but I don't really think that. So, a short romance in which Galmar is actually the decent one in the story. |
