Always good to see book-based Faramir (I much prefer him to the movie version). However, your version appears rather... well, wimpy. The canon Faramir was a first-rate warrior, seasoned ranger and respected commander - certainly not someone who would drop his sword while fleeing from Orcs. And in some scenes, he appears to have almost as little fighting experience as the Hobbits. In my respectful opinion, you need to toughen him up.

I always enjoy stories where Faramir goes to Rivendell instead of Boromir. I hope you will eventually finish it.

Two questions - why would Legolas despise Faramir, who he has never met? The only member of the Fellowship towards whom Legolas had any dislike in the beginning was Gimli, and we all know how that turned out. (also, Elves and Dwarves had some past wrongs on both sides, particularly the Sindar) Why would Faramir think of himself as "the weakest" member of the Fellowship. Faramir is the Captain of the Ithilien Rangers, a proven archer and warrior; surely he is not so nervous as to think himself weaker than a juvenile hobbit such as Pippin, or Sam, who doesn't know much about shooting or fighting.

Oh, poor Faramir! That's so sad that Denethor hates him. :( Well, hopefully Boromir will understand, right?

I have been waiting to read a story with Faramir going in Boramir's place, (I can't wait to see the fellowships reaction if Faramir ever lets slip that he knocked his brother out in order to take his place, oh to see the looks on their faces!) Please please please continue! I can't wait to read more!

This is an awesome fanfic! Faramir is my favorite LotR character and I'm really glad someone decided to wrte a story about him. I like that you had Faramir be tempted by the ring, but overcome that temptation. This way, it's still unclear whether he will continue to resist the ring or follow in Boromir's footsteps. Your writing is brilliant and I can't wait to read more!

I love that Faramir and Aragorn are getting along well... I always had the headcanon that they became friends after ROTG... Anyway, I can't wait to see what happens.

I enjoyed this chapter. :) I am very curious as to what is happening back in Gondor... It'll be a fascinating story when they get in that area (however and with whomever).

Hey! I love what you're doing with this fanfiction, I think it will go in a very interesting direction, even though you seem to want to kill Faramir, which makes me suffer. Nevertheless, I think you should consider Faramir's personality a little bit more. The ring had a very different effect on him, and, in general, was somehow very different to Boromir.
