This has to be the best explanation anyone's ever come up with for the existence of the Sorting Hat.
I love how they just dumped the brain into the Hat because there was nothing else there where they could put it in and I love Godric desperately turning to every one of his friend's, one after another, to undo the charm.

I could go on and quote half the story here, but naming favourites is of little use when the entire story is just one big piece of comedy gold.

On a further note, I love your portrayal of the Founders. The four of them being a real Brat Pack, with Salazar and Godric more than the other two, now that is how it should have been. I think everyone secretly wants to have friends like them with whom he can drop brains in old hats.

Okay, I think this is the strangest sentence I have written today.

My goodness, this is funny. I like how the Founders all have nicknames for each other, and how Godric is all he-may-be-my-friend-but-I-still-don't-trust-him. One thing, the didn't know all of that about the brain back when the founders where alive, much less have names for them, but I understand that to make it work, you had to have them know what each part mean. I also really liked the part when Sal goes, "Speak English!" The end was also really funny. Great job!

I like that you've actually given the founders personalities and not just treated them as almost inhuman figures simply because they're so far removed from the Harry Potter series.

I also like that you've told us where the singing part of the hat comes from. I could never imagine Godric doing that :)

Awesome story.

This is really funny and original. I like the joking friendly teasing relationship between Godric and Salazar rather than hateful rivalry even though Salazar rather seems to enjoy tormenting and then Rowena seems to side with Salazar to a degree.
