Where else would she be indeed. Though Carson wasn't so sure of her answer in canon, you did get the tone right. No passionate encounter, just a discreet, beautiful moment of privacy they could share. If we're lucky enough to ever see them finally exchange "I love you"s, I think it will be as matter-of-fact as it was here. It fits the characters, and, after that proposal scene, it really would be just the externalization of something they both already know. Of course that doesn't mean WE will be flailing or crying any less...

I adore this. So much. There is the tacit implication of there being *something* there, but you also don't discount what already exists between them. I love how their declarations are so matter-of-fact, but it's really so much more complicated than that, isn't it? That's one of the reasons I love this ship in the first place - layers upon layers of feels. :)
