sorrellkaren chapter 1 . 3/2/2017
Wow, this story left me with so many emotions I hardly know where to begin. A plague in a crowded city in the seventeenth century would have been a nightmare few could comprehend today. The death toll alone would be staggering not to mention the unsanitary conditions. Once again we see our four brothers share everything among them, even sickness. I was moved the most by d'Artagnan's vigil to keep Athos rooted to this world in spite of his own illness. Love can and does work miracles. The fact that they all wanted to stay together spoke volumes to me. No matter how bad this was they would all share it. Even if they risked death themselves they would save another. When Treville tried to move the puppy to another room and Aramis and Porthos both said no I nearly cried. He was one of them and he wasn't going anywhere, he was totally accepted. All for one. I found a bit of happiness in the end when Treville heard it rain and thanked God for his mercy in saving his flock and saw that all would be saved from this horror in the end. I also have to tip my hat to the use of bible verse, to rain on the just and the unjust alike. Sometimes his mercy amazes us all.

That was really powerful and gripping from start to finish. You had wonderful characterisation throughout and I could feel their fear and desperation. Great job!
ZoeBreaky chapter 1 . 1/25/2015
THAT WAS CRAZY GOOD! I wish you would have continued, but I loved how the story progressed and ended. I could truly feel the stress, fear, and desperation our boy's were facing! You had me so scared for them! Great writing and I hope you continue to publish more rich works.

"Sleep well, my friend. Your flock has been well tended."

Loved this. So true to character-and exactly how a bunch of guys would take care of each other. Loved Treville worrying over his men-he's such a good leader. Always enjoy your words-so flowing and well chosen.
Nicely done-thank you!
