Mmm, it is lovely. I'd love to see more! I don't have any ideas right now, but some might spring to mind later.
I think the points you made about Iemitsu were great. But I don't really get what all the betrayal stuff was. How were they betrayed? I didn't understand. If you could shoot me a PM that would be much appreciated.
But anyway. Yeah, I could see Tsuna in diplomacy, especially if he grew a backbone (yay!). And the scene with the hair cutting, braids, and Squalo deciding to grow it out again was good. Honestly, yeah; I saw him with short hair in the flashback and I was like what the frick, no, I like long hair on him way better.

This...is a take on things that makes SO MUCH SENSE. I mean, why should the Vongola Rings be bloodline locked? It was JUST the Sky one supposedly like that, but Kawahira kind of made it obvious that it was flame strength and NOT blood that was important. Vongola just had some of the strongest skies.

And this sort of twist is exactly what I'd expect from underworld politics. KHR canon was just too...simple. Black and white good and evil.

I loved this! And now I kinda want this as what cannon should have been.. if it, y'know, wasn't a shounen manga where the Mafia ends up being friendship&rainbows with Happy Endings. A diplomatic, more confident Tsuna with actual common sense as CEDEF Head seems like such a better position for him... and would fit the role so much more than Iemitsu, really.
Love the Varia explaining where the joke was and the rest of allies and Arcobaleno realizing and Not Being Happy about it. Also Tsuna and Xanxus casually bantering at the Ceremony.
I hope you write a continuation of this, especially with Byakugan being evil dimentional overlord and shait..

Hmm I know Squalo didn't go into TYL but what if he did, and he sees pictures of himself or something, and he has long hair, and he's disappointed but resigned that Sandusky never became Decimo, but then this happens and he starts growing out his hair again and he realizes what's going on in the future? Haha idk I guess just a Drabble thing?

That was so cool. I liked how matter of fact you had the Varia lay out the politics of what was happening (though it doesn't explain why Nono was in the Gola Mosca). I really liked it though. Tsuna getting confidence and having someone to fall back to authority wise instead of becoming the head-honcho of Vongola was interesting too. It'd be cool to see the Guardians' and Tsuna's reactions to all of that. Or maybe to other things that happened later. Tsuna's relief at not being boss must have been great indeed. Though he does find himself still in the Mafia and instead boss of a different organization! (oops, tension rises again)
Hair takes such a long time to grow back, and it feels so weird when even a couple inches is removed. I should know. I have long hair and 6 years ago I cut it to just below my ears.

Said most of what I wanted on AO3, but I can't *not* react over that cover image. It's perfect! Xanxus looks so young, especially sans hair accessories. And Squalo looks plain weird with short hair. I suppose he always will. Shark looks too good with long hair - letting him lop it off can't be anything but criminal. (Luss would cry. It would be TERRIFYING.)
