This is excellent! Some parts were confusing, but the language and concepts are beautiful. I haven't seen anyone else explore the relationship between Zarkon and the Black Lion; I like your ideas for how it may have happened. I also like how you drew a parallel with Shiro hurting Matt, a memory that must weigh heavily on him. Good title choice too, I understood it by the end. I think there is some room for grammar revision and other details-for instance, you say a thousand years but I think that's supposed to be ten thousand. Overall, great job on this; I can't wait to read your other Love Songs of the Lions!

Holy shit that was incredible. That was honestly better than any backstory or detail or emotion or in-depth explanation of their relationship I could ever reasonably expect the show to give. That was really ridiculously good and you should be proud of yourself for writing it. This might have been the best Voltron fic I've read so far, and I've been reading a ton. Again, wow! This is really good! I love the interaction between Shiro and his Lion, and the connection they share. The way they see through each other's eyes and use their eerily similar experiences to get the point across is very interesting. Great job!
