I love this in a sense that I feel robbed we weren’t giving more by the show creators for Shiro and his time in the gladiator ring. It always felt like a concept so thrown away after the Robeast battle in S1, and this was both brutal and beautiful. Thank you for your hard work!

The way Shiro finally found a way to control his new arm when it was forcing him to attack the family made me so fiercely proud of him despite the heartache because that kind of choice is the one of the worst but for the best choices someone could ever make. Takashi Shirogane is definitely a hero and true legendary defender. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING YOUR EPIC TALENT! ! !

This may be the best-written Voltron fanfic I've read so far. Your language and handling of extreme situations and emotions is wonderful.

A couple thoughts I had on wording: "he's killed" could technically mean either "he has killed" or "he is killed"; maybe take out the contraction to clarify, or add the word "people" to the sentence. What does "smiles like a slaughter house" mean?

WOW okay this is amazing! I think I've read this through a few times now, but the voltron fangirl in me loves this, and the classics student in me aDORES this. Not to mention on of my fave movies is Gladiator, so to see you make reference to it had me jumping up and down! Honestly, a great read and nice to see someone speculate into Shiro's past when he was captured, something I'm hoping for more of in the next season. But until then, I've got this gem!

I _loved_ this fic. It's really well written - great flow, great narrative style, intense moments that were _amazing_. My heart jumped into my throat when I thought the Galra were going to use the arm to kill the people. Shiro's move was INCREDIBLE. I LOVED THIS. :-)

I love the mature tone and underlying research of this story. The connection to the Roman arena is well done. Thank you for this!
