I gotta say the angst this chapter is... odd. I mean yeah I get Taylor is worried about her lust for powers, fighting etc. But it was freaking Hookwolf. The way the "good guys" bend over backwards to save the lives of criminals always struck me as pretty cruel in the Worm-verse. It seemed like even being a mass murder wasn't enough to get a kill order that any one even tried to enforce.

That said it's not a unreasonable fear given what has already happened. Though again the plot seems to be forced forward again as Tattletale calls her directly with some amazing ability to know who she is and her number, above and beyond anything her ability had before. Over all I just feel Taylor, and the audience for that matter just isn't given a moment to breath.

Just rush from one huge world ending disaster after another with every one after her. Mean while she can't stick to anything resembling a plan for more than a second before another shiny problem props up. She not only has the entire world after her, she apparently drawing people in from the Heros verse as well...

So I understand the need to light a fire beneath Taylor to give her some focus in her quest. That said I really don't think more bleed over from the Hero's world is a great idea. Sylar especially, I mean Worm has enough God level threats. It really doesn't need MORE bad guys to keep things interesting.

To be fair about Taylor's spiral into moral ambiguity Laws are not morals or ethics. What is legal isn't always good. What is right isn't always moral. Worm-verse kind of pushes most people into being villains because of how corrupt and messed up the world is. Sort of like Warhammer 40k if you've ever read any of it's works, there are no good guys. The best you can get are "less bad".

Even the better people tend to work for worse people, so any info or help you give them are really helping the bad guys. Given the world has to be on the brink of collapse due to the endbringers and parahumans in general more and more restrictive laws would be put in place. Frankly it seems like Parahumans have none of the rights or protection a normal person would have and only being powerful is a way to keep yourself free and alive.

So yes while I think power is corrupting Taylor, there is also the issue of your either powerful or nothing in the Worm-verse.

A yes the PRT, the only thing they seem to be good at is railroading a new cape into becoming a villain through incompetent police work and leaps of paranoia. Seriously they seem incapable of capturing a single villain on their own but more than willing to call the hand of god down upon any one who isn't affiliated with a gang. Hero or not.

I just remembered something, why the fuck is Taylor in need of these skills? It literally said that she took Victors power along with all of his skills that he had acquired with his powers. Why did you retcon that thing in like the chapter just after!?

I've read A Wand for Skitter and I thought it was great, but this one was even better imo. I'm very happy you complete all your fics and so far the 2 I've read have amazing endings. Keep up the good work, you are a very skilled writer.

wow that was a great story and i am so glad that i binged this, some really interesting moral and philosophical questions mixed into this and this is one of the few stories, published or fanfic, that i came away feeling like i learned something.
