| Runner043 chapter 1 . 1/27/2018 A darkness withing - now there's something all the Inseparables can relate to. And is it even possible to be a soldier, of any kind, without some sort of darkness? After all, any who sign up know ahead of time that their duty may require them to do acts they would otherwise never due. Well, now I'm just thinking out loud here. Anyway, it's good that d'Artagnan now realizes that all the guys can relate to what he went thru, and unfortunately, will go thru again. Always glad to see a story from you, CG :-) |

It's an aspect of life that fascinates me and you describe it beautifully, both within the plot and with the conversation between Athos and d'Artagnan. How do we control our anger (for we all have it, although in some of us it is expressed by bitching or put downs rather than fists) and make sure our actions are always proportionate and justifiable? When your job is to deliver justice, as Athos points out, it must be so hard to be the conduit for violent response without letting it consume or overwhelm you... and that, as you point out so beautifully, is where brothers come in. An awesome story, thank you! |
