What a wonderful little story on how they met. Sweet, simple, and innocent. Obvious attraction right away on both of their parts. I would love to see a few more chapters, to follow this easy start to their friendship. Maybe light flirting for awhile. Maybe this is is simply perfect the way it is too.

This is great! I love the idea of her tossing him the glove, so someone can end up with the pair rather than having it split up and helping no one. And even more perfect that she and her gloves find each other again, by way of Mr. Charles Carson!

Just finished reading this for a third time and it gets better and better. I cannot thank you enough for writing this story for me and bringing such a huge smile and happiness to my life in the form of Charles and Elsie. I loved everything about this ... from their meeting on the train to the moment he returns her cherished gloves. Swoon. And that, my friends, is how Charles Carson fell hopelessly in love with Elsie Hughes. tee hee.

This was such a simple yet charming short story, which was welcome after so long. Not many fics about them these days, if so they’re modern AUs, which I don’t mind, but this was just a great story. A nice first meeting, loved the last bit.

My life schedule has changed, I don't get the opportunity to read as much as I used to. I must thank you for keeping me on your mailing list, it is appreciated. I admit, that I had forgotten how well you write as an author and how much I missed reading your stories.

The good new is, now I have a mini-library of your stories to catch up on. Thank you very much for continuing to write. I really enjoy the Carson-Hughes storyline.

I know this is a one-off, but since it's 'slightly AU', I can see this developing into a longer story where E & C form a friendship and then a relationship much sooner (and much younger) than the original tortoises.
