BTW, here: 'but Harry had gotten lost in her deep mesmerising eyes'. Isn't 'gotten' archaic in the UK? I thought only Americans used it. It is grammatically correct in American English but is now incorrect in British English, but I suppose British children have watched a little too much American TV and are starting to use it too. I have certainly noticed, in the last decade, some Australians saying 'gotten', but it still makes me wince.
