Reviews for Bad Grace
Guest chapter 11 . 3/16
Truly delightful writing, thank you! You are a credit to Sir Terry.
NTSFroes chapter 21 . 10/5/2016
I'm sorry. I didn't want to be such a pain in the ass, because I really really loved your story, but I'm going to have to be.
No, seriously, I don't know if this was the objective, to make highly mocking Sins in high mockeries of real situations, at which case ignore me and I should just learn to appreciate sarcasm.
But your take on Brazil is kinda offensive. I mean. I live here, so... Yeah. It rubbed me on all the wrong ways pretty much everywhere. It's just... First you say some South America country, which is, oh well South America stereotype so I should bitch less but then they are talking Portuguese, so Brazil. I think I wouldn't be so upset if it wasn't for the aside kinda general comments like the hookers in Ipanema and the thing about how jail system supposedly works in this story's South American country. I mean... I don't know, I research when I want to write things about other countries so what's the harm in doing a small bit of research? Like. Ipanema is a highly gentrified neighborhood in Rio, I'm not saying there aren't hookers there, but if there are it's certainly something very hush hush and high class. Ipanema isn't the richest part of Rio ever but it comes really close, I mean, even the beach itself which is supposedly free circulation for everybody, is a place mostly frequented by white rich people and there's actually a lot of small things trying to keep lower classes away from the area like a very suspicious shortage of public transportation there from poor areas. And of course prisional system is kind of falling apart but that's really due to overcrowding and underfunding, but its not like we don't have separate jails for men and women. It's also encouraged that women guards work at women jails but I don't think women are forbidden from working in men's jails. This prison you described seems to me like something out from Tropa de Elite mixed up with Batman the Dark Knight Rises' prison.
Also it didn't really bother me that much but PolĂcia Federal is more of a... Our not so cool version of CIA thing I guess? It's mostly border work or office work and you can't really get transferred from a normal police job to it, there are like tons of really difficult entrance tests, so there's that. There's an specific test you do to a guard at a federal prison but it isn't the same thing.
GlassyTheRosePen chapter 33 . 3/22/2016
No words can possibly describe how much I loved this story. At first I began reading it due to a dear and rather ineffable pair of mine, but I soon came to love all the added elements and just your whole concept! I laughed, I felt sadness, I cringed, I felt smiled, I shook my head, I gasped in surprise. But it all tied up together in the end. And Rachel is just lovely. Making her and girl and a reincarnation of Eve was so brilliant! Fantastic job, and I believe people were well in character. In my opinion at least, as character interpretation is largely a subjective matter.

PS: Hastur falling in actual love with Avarice? And now being a daddy and damn happy about it? Out of everything I think that was the biggest surprise haha. Seriously though, how? With Crowley it makes sense as he always was quite mellow and more into mischief than actual evil. Now Hastur falling in love with a woman that is a sin and then continuing to love her afterwards? I think that one needed more exploration. Not saying it's impossible but it's a bit too unexpected.

Aha, reached the end! The epilogue was lovely. Also I noticed you mentioning some other reviews disagreeing with your portrayal of Crowley: funnily enough as I was reading this I was thinking 'this is perfect Crowley characterisation'! He spends so much of the books cringing and whining in his own loveable way, so I'm really glad you included that aspect of his personality! Overall, a fabulous story, thank you very much!
geko-blackjack chapter 30 . 6/4/2013
Wow! I've been whizzing through this fic today, and with finished works I don't usually review until the final chapter, but this one meant I just had to review! Great chapter, and what with all the intense drama and emotion, the sudden humorous arrival of Azrael made me cry with laughter. Brilliant work :')
Guest chapter 18 . 5/20/2013
Funny coincidence: A the very moment you mentioned Simon and Garfunkel I was listening to The Boxer.
ImLostForever chapter 33 . 2/21/2013
I loved this fic so much. The detail, the effort you put in. Wow!
OneOfShadows chapter 33 . 12/2/2012
I debated with myself if I should even write this, but what the hell.
Your writing is absolutely amazing, as if Terry, or Neil, of course, had decided to write an unofficial sequel themselves.
But, there is one huge but. Two actually.
Crowley and Aziraphale. That made my skin crawl, not because I would have anything against gays, but because Terry would never ever ever do something like that. Ever. Also, to go with the theme of completeness and wholeity that the story seems solely based on, for love, by which I mean the real deal, there needs to be a male and a female, and even though Aziraphale is admittedly more feminine than Crowley, a male shape forces a male mindset upon the person, to borrow one of Terry's concepts.
Lady Emzebel chapter 33 . 4/30/2011
-headdesk- I feel like such a dumbass. I saw Pride/Ginger coming a mile off and could even figure out what Sins the ladies were going to morph into (heck, I even knew what the girls were going to be from the moment they had a rainbow aura) but as for Death being the one who wanted the apocalypse...wow, the clues didn't smack me upside the head until the moment you revealed his identity.

So uh...yeah, still kinda shocked and awed with the mastery with which you forged with brilliant work of fanfiction. In the immortal words of Crowley (if you'll excuse the blasphemy): Oh. My. God. I honestly don't think I can come up with anything more eloquent. It's 8am and I've pulled an all nighter reading this simply because it is so bloody excellent.

Crowley cringing and whinging...freakin' loved him. As I'm neither one of Messyrs Pratchett nor Gaiman I have no right to say whether he was in character or not, but I thoroughly enjoyed the way you wrote him. All the A/C was absolutely wicked, and I swear that this story has just built up a permanent residence inside my skull as headcanon. Also, I have to say, their reunion in the Dovecott's orchard made me blush and step away from my screen for a moment to recover. HOT. Especially with the apple. Don't think I've ever read anything more gorgeous or sensual in a long time.

Death. Adored him. Again, as I'm neither of the original authors, I cannot say if he's completely in character or not; however, he was excellent in the story. Every little mention of him before the grand finale had me giggling (as he did in canon) and I find his fed-up attitude very believable. I liked that you spared him at the end. It made me feel warm and fuzzy inside.

Speaking of which, the ending made me inexplicably happy. As I'm not entirely familiar with your other fanworks for GO, I wasn't sure if you were going to turn Crowley into a human and I'm so glad you didn't; after all, he's got his angel to take care of.

Pleased to say I got the majority of jokes scattered here and there, though Auriel stumped me a little. I get that he's supposed to be Heaven's representative for Earth, but I wasn't sure if his earthly form with its eyeliner and the little curl below his eye was another reference or not.

Dear lord, I still haven't said everything that I love about this story so I'm afraid that I'm just going to have to leave it here. Thank you for a simply fabulous read that I'm sure I'll return to in the near future. Kisses! xxx
AshlarKithkanan chapter 33 . 4/24/2011
Even though I'm late to the party, I'm glad I was able to read something as good as this. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful story.
Specklefur chapter 33 . 12/8/2010
*squee!*

I love this!

The characterizations, the Them, the everything-else-that-is-going-to-be-bundled-into-one-point-to-save-space, it's all awesome!
RainKrystal chapter 33 . 11/18/2010
Wow- just- wow. This has well and truly blown my mind. The entire thing from start to finish was well thouhgt out. I stayed up all last night to read this. You had me on the edge of my seat, and waiting for the next part at every turn. I love what you did with the Sins and the Horsepersons. Rachel was a good addition, and Newt finally got his chance to do something good. On top of that, Anathema got to have a normal life. Even with all the strange goings-on that made this epic, it was the little touches of normalcy that made it glorious. This was a delight to read, and I heartily thank you very much for having written this so that others could read it.
Avi689 chapter 33 . 9/11/2010
I love your take on this! You clearly researched well and wrote in the first book's image. (And don't worry- I figured out Ginger- make that at least two people)
TardisIsTheOnlyWayToTravel chapter 31 . 7/4/2010
*gurgles with laughter*

I loved Sandman!Death's cameo, and Aziraphale inwardly dancing on the head of a pin. LOL That was great. I love the myriad references in this, by the way.
TardisIsTheOnlyWayToTravel chapter 18 . 7/4/2010
*squee of delight* The witches! And Granny especially was totally in character, lol.
