The thing that makes Sakura's confession really sad, is that after Naruto called her on the BS, she went and tried the same kind of BS confession on Sasuke, the guy she actually wanted to be with, and again got called on it.

NaruSaku is my favourite pairing, but this is cathartic after 693. Kishimoto has no respect for his female characters and has no idea how to write any romance convincingly. That much has become blatantly obvious.
