I honestly would have loved for Kakashi's relationship with his father to be touched upon more in the series, but alas it didn't happen. I really loved the one shot and couldn't find anything wrong with it.

I think I read it a while ago before signing up on here, and didn't leave a review, but I've just read it again and it's so sweet it made me cry a little bit!

I love the way you draw such a vivid picture of the scene in such a subtle way that the reader (well, me at any rate!) doesn't notice it being done, but can visualise everything perfectly by the end, if that makes any sense.

I loved the way you did this entirely from Sakumo's POV...it really sucked me into the intensity of his emotions in a way that wouldn't have otherwise been possible. Oh - and kudos on how you started the chapter...because, at first, I was thinking he was waiting outside while his wife gave birth - so when it became clear this was after that point it made the realization of his wife's death all the more powerful.

Sakumo's slow transition from anger into acceptance was beautifully and quite realistically detailed, and it made the ending moments and vow all the more powerful (not to mention sadder when you take into account what the man does when Kakashi is older...)

Well done! And sorry it took me this long to find it!
