I was just rereading this story and wanted to compliment you on a nice piece of work.

A thought I had after reading it, was if the Federation decides to keep an eye on them how they would react when the figure out that the reason for the long passes is they Dragonriders using their dragons temporal abilities to change the orbit of the red planet. A follow up story might prove interesting.

You need some editing. Groghe.

A nice short story made even better by being complete. I would love to see an expanded version of this or, perhaps, additional stories in the same vein.

Chekov's accent, as you are writing it, is unessessarily thick (difficult to read), and, if I'm remembering TOS correctly, he doesn't have nearly as thick of an accent as you are portraying.
In contrast you're hardly making note of Sulu's accent at all (not that I have a strong preference either way but I think you should be consistant. If you're going to write out the accents write them /all/ out)

I'm loving your interactions. All very true to character for both sides and they're meshing quite well without one overpowering the other as so often happens in Xovers. Well done.

I know this is a few years old, but seeing good Pern crossover fanfic just makes my day. Oh, the inhuman noises I just made.

More interesting but short...and of course the red shirt survived. that is NOT supposed to happen...he could have at least been eaten by thread. The only other criticism is that Kirk didn't crawl into bed with somebody and Spock being a Vulcan wasn't noted as telepathic by the dragons.

Nice touch, having them speak to spock directly.

Whether or not you knew it to be so, dragons pay about as much attention to the raw telepathic ability of the humans in question as to their character traits.

It's not, I think, something anne McAffery added consciously, but more like something that emerged from her overall view of how telepathy and other psychich powers ought to work. although, I haven't read all her books yet, so i could easily be wrong.

Only problem with your is that the colonists know about Pern before they actually when there.

I like this story, I could so see this as a Star Trek episode. There were a few things off, but nobodys perfect. And they do that to books made into movies all the time.
