I think it works both as a romance or deep friendship, depending on how you prefer to interpret it.

Well my opinion is a bias one (hardcore AmeriRuss shipper here B) and anything with these two Id yell 'ROMANCE' even when having to look through a pair of huge lenses) but I would say romance since the whole heart thing is used, the kiss on the forehead, and the extreme concern despite the somewhat turbulent relationship these two places have going on.

I love when the heart thing is included the nations little err quirks ? make me squeal~

It seems to me that ivan and alfred have one foot in each… an already deep friendship that’s on and off I guess, but also a forming romantic bond… well, you know what I mean X.X

for the ending note: It's netural and done very hetalia like; hetalia has hints of stuff but not outright bam there we go! Like hints of Fruk but it could be viewed as rivalery. Or hints of hostility of Russiamerica but it could be viewed as rivals who are friends as well (considering the condom comic among other things.) So it could be viewed as romance or just really close friends!

But this is so well done it puts me to shame ._. makes me feel like I write crap it's that good lol. Omg the emotions the event so well put together and how powerful it is among Alfred not being a dick...man.

I think it could be both. In my opinion it seemed like borderline close friendship/romance...like...if given a few chapters it would have developed into romance.

Also...I see this a lot but do the nations hearts usually fall out? O_o Could you explain that part to me?

Aw, this is very sweet. The way that America cares so much and Russia needs someone to support him through his difficult times was just very heartwarming. Nicely done!

I love this story! Gosh, it's just. . . I don't even know! Touching, sweet, and absolutely endearing to boot. Everything about it is plain great, I tell ya!

Alfred speeding around in a jeep trying to find Russia is so like him. Always the good guy to the very end, yeah? Certainly a motivated one at that too!

I loved Ivan and Alfred's interactions when they met, too. Holding on to one another like that amidst all the destruction and smoke creates a really strong, vivid mental image. And then Ivan crying! My heart broke right then and there, and I think we can all identify with how he was feeling then.

Good boy, Alfred, taking care of your little Ivanushka like that. I love that he was holding him close and saying those sweet little nothings to help him chill out.

I think the whole bit with Ivan's heart was my favorite. I love the idea that someone else touching it (like Alfred) would make Ivan feel physical things because of it. Which makes sense, since it's part of him, after all!

As for wondering if this fic is leaning more towards romance than deep friendship, it's hard to say. Personally I think it's like they're transitioning from friendship to something more, if that makes any sense.

Anyway, thank you so, so much for posting this fic! It was most assuredly worth the wait!

This was really nice :) I was very emotional, and I liked how you kept everyone pretty much in character. It's also very sad T_T Any kind of natural disaster is depressing but when you add Hetalia to the mix it just turns blargh. I mean that with the highest esteem, though. This is a good kind of blargh

I especially liked the heart-falling-out thing at the end. It was funny and a bit outrageous while still managing to keep the mood of the piece. I liked that, and it was well done :D

All in all I liked this a lot. And poor Russia! *cries* I'll help you!
