I like that River, who really understand what he went through is the one that comforts him, because when you get down to it, they are both people who were broken by the Alliance in their own ways, and are struggling to survive.

I really liked this! And the opening section was a fantastic way to start.

Just came across this story. Very nice. I really enjoyed the Mal-River scenes. It was good to see River taking command of her abilities, and using her connection to Mal, to help him heal. Well done.

I really like this! What a horrible experience for anyone...thankfully River has the ability to help him get through this!

Interesting torture device, clever idea that, scary but clever. At least Mal, when reliving the memories still knows that they are memories. But that would still be a horrid experience. I was so sure that them rescuing him was just a dream, I kept waiting for him to wake up back in there. River is a very good friend, that was nice of her to help fix him.

i loved this. you wrote with such emotion... it was a fantastic read.

I loved this. River was the perfect one to give the mentally traumatised Captain the kind of help he needed and it would be so like Simon to worry about him having mental damage that he might not be able to heal. Typical of the gorram Alliance to get it wrong, arrest and torture the wrong man, and not apologise or try to put it right afterwards. You really have tapped into the inate connection between Mal and River and it plays out so well. Very glad they got him back!

That was pretty darn good. Just what I needed to start a morning. The story was interesting and believable. Everybody was in character and involved in the the ending was satisfactory and conclusive.I especially liked that when you dipped into past episodes, you kept to the facts without adding your own spin. Overall,I thought it was a very enjoyable read.

WOW! Dark and angsty just as I like them and I love how River quietly helps Mal recover. Sexual or not they are my favourite paring.

What a amazingly well written story! Well done!
