I enjoyed the inserts referencing what Takako has been up to in the last few months, as well as the additional insight as to why spirits have such revulsion to being seen by humans, especially the non powered.

Again, your world building is great. Canon never addresses where Natsume gets money from, despite all his trips and buying manjuu and such, even though he is obviously unlikely to ask the Fujiwaras for it.
Also, Shigeru really shone as a dad this chapter. Very touching! And the goodbye with Touko made me weepy.
It's always wonderful to read the story of the fox child, but not onoy did you include world building about his Name and lack of mask, but you also showed Natsume how to read! It was a really great remake of the story.

Nyanko! You doofus. Don't leave Takako alone for the sake of food! At least he redeemed himself later. I love it when he gets all tender and protective.
I like the backstory for the Natori clan. the canon version has so little information.
I also really like Takako being proactive in the ofuda department. I wish Yuujinchou would have Natsume willing to at least learn to protect the Fujiwara home. Given his fears, it always seemed odd that he hasn't yet done so, especially since he went to the trouble to trap that one youkai just to get to their home in the first place.
Why does Nyanko keep calling her sakasama (inverted)?
I find the idea of a seal on Natsume bloodline to be really interesting, and wish it was canon. It really helps to explain the differences between Takashi and Reiko, AND explains a lot of his uncontrolled power surges when he or someone else is in danger.
Natori is just as creepy as he is at the start of the series. It will be interesting to see if his progress is different for Takako than for Takashi. Takako is NOT going to like how their second major encounter starts...

Wait, you said kast chapter Takako was 17. But in this chapter Touko says three years until she reaches age 18.

Interesting backstory with hints at what became of Reiko. Takako also seems more willing to trust and ask for help than Natsume Takashi.

I liked the world building. Thanks for the fic.

Been really enjoying this story, and how it doesn't follow the series exactly but rather loosely. Looking forward to next update!
