Hmm ... I would like to see the sequel to this story. For example, about how the unexpected consequences overtook the Charming for violating a magical deal (of his own making: he did not give to Rumple his chipped cup, but only its fragments. And he did admitt that the imp fulfilled his part of their deal... But the prince failed to fulfill his). And now no one knows what to do next. Because from the moment of the incident the imp stopped responding to any attempts of threats, negotiations, persuasion and begging. He only tries to put together his cup out of it's fragments day after day...

I teared up at the end. Very well done, wrought with emotion. Everyone was in character and acted like themselves. Good job for making me want to cry over a broken cup.

That was the most beautifully heart-wrenching thing I've read in a long while. I was near tears when poor Rumple broke down. You wrote this whole scenario incredibly well adm true to character. Now I'm really wishing there was more to read of this story. :)

I spent the second half of this story trying to read it through tears because I couldn't stop crying. Poor Rumple. :'(

Oh, my, this was so terribly, awfully sad! :( I love that it's through David's view because he's always seen more of the humanness of Rumplestiltskin than most others, and I love his view of Rumplestiltskin. First as a king and then as a man and then as a compassionate man. His desire to protect everyone and then his empathy for Rumplestiltskin was so in-character and so wonderful to see. I also like that though Ella did get herself into trouble and was the one to break the cup, you showed her emotional fragility too and her motives for what she did. And Grumpy was so well-drawn, so beautifully loyal and wonderfully...well, grumpy. :)

But Rumplestiltskin...oh, my, but his POV was so gorgeous and wonderful - amazingly done, how he reenacted bits of his time with Belle and saw her and was leashed by his goal to find Bae (though I'm curious if this plague idea was something Regina tried before the curse or if this was her plan in this universe, and if it was, how does that and being caged help Rumplestiltskin get to Bae?). And his anguish at the end completely undid me - I am not ashamed to say I wept at reading it!
