Good job! I especially liked your characterisation of spock.

After a couple seconds he realized he hadn't act heard the sound of his own voice, not allowed anyway.- Might want to check on that sentance, as it makes no sense to me.

Poor Jim...enjoyed this but I'm glad Spock told him it wasn't his fault, I mean, if they didn't mention marriage customs, how was he supposed to know?

Really enjoyed your short story. Especially in that you kept everyone true to character right down to Spock analyzing everything. This is one that I can easily see happening to the crew.

There would be no complaints of an epilogue as I do enjoy your style of writing.
