So...What's the difference here?

There is literally no difference between this story and the original Death Note. NONE! All you did was have Light ask some worthless questions that only padded the story. It added nothing to the characters, changed nothing, and...like most rational fics I have found so far, was boring!

Interesting perspective, definitely. Although the… insanity? was only really visible in dialogue with Ryuk, I felt. There might have been a bit of a breakdown in the shower, (liked the 'charming habit', by the way) and the focus on the notebook especially after, but it didn't feel like a psychotic break, if that was what you wanted to portray…
I look forward to seeing more of this, and if Light will go beyond judging criminals, and condemn, for example, the bosses of weapon's manufacturing companies and the like (perhaps even some politicians, like he wanted to become, wouldn't that be ironic)…
So keep up the good work, if you're still into it!

A less annoying Light, for sure. Seems like he could have chosen to remain undetected, but is making a statement, and it's sad that it was last updated 2 years ago.

Light and L in the manga were honestly quite clever, but were not super geniuses. In hindsight, a lot of their mistakes are obvious, but for the two of them living through it? They did a better job than I'd imagine most of us on this site ever could.

That said, I like the idea of a Light that's capable of thinking a few steps ahead and realize that he needs to hide EVERY possible avenue of discovery if he wants to remain undiscovered.

I wonder how long it would take him to realize that IP tracing and Search history tracking are things. I don't know what Japan's cybercrimes division is like, but it would only take so long before InterPol or whoever starts catching on that whoever is doing this is using the internet or TV broadcasts as their information source, and as a result could somewhat narrow possible nations down by cross-referencing said broadcasts with the full list of known executions.

I've been thinking of something similar to this. If Light were more careful...or was lesss narcissistic - that kind of thing.

And you've done it~ There were more chapters? Is this chapter an accumulation of all of them, rewrite of chapter 1, or rewrite of chapter 1-#? I would have loved to have read the original.
