![]() Author has written 65 stories for CSI, House, M.D., CSI: New York, Criminal Minds, NCIS, and Eleventh Hour. 1/17/2015 Well...I figured I'd try to catch up on some of my old fanfics, and am reading through them right now. I remember how much fun I had writing them! I started writing fanfic (CSI:NY and Criminal Minds) when my mother had cancer. I was blocked on my original fiction, yet I needed to write in order to find my sense of balance. So...I turnd to worlds that had already been created. This was back in 2007. A lot has changed since then, for sure. My mother is fully recovered, thank goodness, and things in my own life have changed. I got married, had a daughter (aka Stinkerbell), built a writing career (I have 10 titles currently of romantic suspense similar to my Criminal Minds fics) and 13 paranormals out there. I get to write full-time now, so I have been blessed. I learned a lot doing fanfic, mainly characterization (it is hard to keep someone else's characters true), pacing, and endings. (I've always struggled with endings.) The one drawback is that writing full-time, my hours at the keyboard are now limited to my original fics. Even though I'd love to get back to fanfic, it's not happened as soon as I want. I mean to change that, if possible. I used to use Fanfic as a way to warm up. I think I'm going to go back to that routine. Because I loved it. So...bear with me while I try to resurrect some of these stories, and try to create some new ones. I'm aiming for ONE MILLION words written in 2015, most on original fiction, but...there is room for some fanfic, too I hope! My books are currently available at all the major ebook retailers, and I write under my actual name of Calle J. Brookes, if anyone's interested! My website is www. callejbrookes (dot) com As an aside, I lost my log-in information months ago and have just now found it, so if anyone has PMd me since 2013 and I haven't responded, I am sorry. I just didn't see the messages until recently. |
