About the Indifference AU: The aim of Indifference was to take a bit of a more thoughtful look at one of the most generic plot points in anime (and fantasy as a whole) - a character is ostracised because of some kind of plot device that gives him super-human skillz and allows for brooding and melancholy flash-backs. I'm a sucker for stuff like that when it's well-done (see: Generator Gawl), but Naruto (and said character) pretty much ignores the Kyuubi except as a handy deus ex machina and a reason for the Akatsuki to chase him and people to have to train him. And one thing that struck me was that the whole tragedy element of the thing would be a lot more interesting if the jinchuuriki character had to deal with his own family's innate prejudice against the Kyuubi and its carrier, rather than the disgust of faceless citizens. | |||||||
