Author has written 3 stories for Harry Potter. Hi! Add me as a friend on facebook! Search for 'Elizabeth Mal' and narrow it down to the Portsmouth network. I'm in the midst of changing my whole profile so please just scroll down right to my stories. I left some parts of my old profile up, just in case anyone was interested. People always do the whole "pairings I like" bit on here but I'm a simple girl. I'm a hardcore Dramione fan (no matter what anyone says with regards to canon - that's why it's fan fiction people). I just think Draco's the only one who could be Hermione's equal. Maybe Harry but Harry/Hermione creeps me out - it's like incest! They're pretty much brother and sister. So I only read Dramione but I'm open minded as to other side pairings. So instead of listing pairings, I'll just list my favorite characters. Obviously Hermione and Draco are at the top. As for the others, in no particular order, I like: Fred and George (if I can't have Draco, I'd have one of the twins. What was JKR thinking killing Fred?! Percy was right there! Why didn't he get hit?! Why - cough where was I again? Oh right, characters I like...) The whole Weasley family - I would seriously love to be part of them. Except for Ron and Percy. Percy's a jerk and Ron...well I just hate Ron with a passion. I have no words to express how much of an abomination Ron is. I love Rupert Grint though - the movie and the books are separate entities to me. Sirius Neville (He rocked in DH!) Snape ( I always knew he was good) Luna (She's quirky, cute, and loyal. Kind of like me.) Narcissa (I loved her in DH) "Others" (ie. not in the books) Blaise Zabini (Only fanfiction. He really wasn't mentioned that much in the books.) Seamus and Oliver Wood (Only because of the movie. I couldn't really care less about them in the books.) So anyway, that's that. I like a lot of other characters too but not as much as I like the ones listed. So if you're still reading...you are a brave soul. So here are more tidbits about me. I hate Wuthering Heights. I hate it with a passion. I hate it almost as much as I hate Ron - and that's saying something (keyword being "almost" though - I still hate Ron the most). Don't get me wrong, I read it. And not because I had to either. So I'm not one of those haters who have absolutely no idea what they're talking about. I just don't get the big deal. It was so dark it made me want to crawl into a hole and die. I know that's where the genius lies, in that it is so intense. I do acknowledge that Emily Brontë was a good writer but the story itself was worthless. I don't understand how people could view it as one of the most romantic stories of all time. Catherine sold out and Heathcliff was just plain evil. Most of the book wasn't even about them anyway. A lot of it was about Catherine's daughter who was an airhead. As Edward said in Eclipse: "...I don't understand why you like it. The characters are ghastly people who ruin each others' lives. I don't know how Heathcliff and Cathy ended up being ranked with couples like Romeo and Juliet or Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy. It isn't a love story, it's a hate story...I still think it would be a better story is either of them had one redeeming quality." By the way, I actually asked Stephenie Meyer about this issue when I went to one of her signings a LONG time ago (before all this twilight mania). I asked her whose side she was on - Edward's or Bella's with regards to Wuthering Heights. I was very glad to hear that she was on Edward's side =) She did say that she could see Bella's point (and I do too) but at the end of the day, she has the same opinion as Edward and me. Markus Zusak summed up my feelings when he said in I am the Messenger (good book by the way): "...Wuthering Heights is getting on my nerves a bit now. The trouble is, Heathcliff's a completely bitter arsehole and Catherine frustrates the hell out of me. My purest hatred, however, is reserved for Joseph, the miserable, complete bastard of a servant. On top of all his preaching and carrying on, it's hard to understand a word he says." As you can see, aside from the fact that I am absolutely obsessed with books and refuse to acknowledge reality, I also like quotes. Some people collect stamps, some collect stickers, some collect bottles - I collect quotes. I have tons from books and fanfic stories but I think this profile is long enough. Please read my stories and I really hope you review. While I am flattered when you add me to your favorites list and I truly appreciate it, I would also love to know what you thought - so please review! Thanks a lot for checking my page out! |
