![]() Author has written 37 stories for Teen Titans, Gundam Wing/AC, Dungeons and Dragons, Megas XLR, Metroid, Halo, Pokémon, Fable, Dragon Quest Series, Fallout, Chrono Trigger, Metal Gear, One Piece, Digimon, My Little Pony, and SWAT Kats. A while back I left a little info in the author note section at the beginning of chapter fourteen of Jack's Journey. This note may be missed by some, but it will be in most of my posts for a few weeks or months. I made it a point to tell anyone that asked that I'm willing to accept OCs to put into my stories if anyone would like to add one to the story. To this end, I'd like to restate something important. To have me add the OC, just ask. Send me a message asking me if I'll put in the character, followed by the character information. The information is below, but as I say to many, don't put in the E.G. parts and stuff after them. That's just examples of what would go where. Head stuff being hats or helmets or glasses or stuff like that. Don't leave that there if the character has nothing there. If they're not wearing anything at all on their head, no helmet, no hat, no glasses, no bandanna, do not leave the E.G. part there. Delete it from the part if you copied and pasted it and don't have them wearing the mentioned things that would go on that body part. If they don't wear shoes, delete the part that says E.G. shoes, sandals, etc. However... This only applies to stories that have multiple chapters. If the story you want a character added to is a requested one shot, I will not add anything. What's done is done, and the one shots are done the moment they're posted unless the requester is not satisfied and wants me to do a little work on it to get it more like what they wanted it to be like. If the story says 'complete' next to it, I will not be adding anything new to it under any circumstance. Also, if you want the OC to have a big part, then I'll gladly have them along in a few chapters, but remember that there are only so many characters I can keep track of at a time. Don't expect every single OC to suddenly show up all at once and have me paying attention and writing everything they're saying. That'd take up space and make it difficult for me to remember what each one's personality is like. And, just so I can say this, during Gallade's Arm or Jack's Journey, if you give me an OC to add, please don't ask me to make them a permanent character. I'll add them where I think they'd fit in, but I wouldn't add them to the teams for good, and Gene wouldn't travel with anyone all the time. He has his own agenda, your OC would have their own agenda, so let's not have them combine for more than two or three chapters at a time. As I've branched into MLP, I have a new character sheet, so if you're requesting a character for Big Top Balancing Act, use the OC sheet I've added a ways down. 10/21/10: A thought occurs. From now on, during a Pokemon request, when anyone from Gallade's Arm or another story show up, consider it non-canon. Request lines: Closed 1. Looneyman 2. Hard Boiled Egg Devils 3. DeCaf M4 4. 5. If anyone else wants a one shot, send me a message. Now that I'm taking requests, I'd like to let you all know that I do need details. I'd like to give a basic rundown of what I need to know, and a few things I'd like to know in advance before I start the actual writing, and remember that I only do one at a time. The basics are as follows: Idea: The basics of what you want. This is obvious though. But for personal reasons, I'll tell you exactly why this is here. What is it that you want me to do? Who am I writing about, and why is this person doing what he or she is doing? Subject: The particular show, game, or movie that you want me to write about. This is the single most important part. I don't have much experience in writing from book characters, so my area is highly limited to cartoons, video games, and some movies. If I haven't seen it or played it, I'll try to get some experience from wherever I can. Wikipedia helps for a lot of things, so if I don't know about it yet, I'll try to learn before getting back to you. Rating: This speaks for itself, but this also tells me what I'm limited by. Next to the rating, tell me anything you want to see or anything you don't want in particular. If it's M, tell me why it will be so. Violence, language, and anything else that makes it an M rated story. POV: I find that it's easier to do things from a first person perspective, but I can try for a third person perspective. It's not my strong suit, but I'll try. After all, the more I try, the better I get. OC's: This one is very important. If you want an OC, I will do what I must to get the character as close to your wishes as I can. For this end, there are a few things I should know. First, name ideas. It's okay if you don't have one, I can come up with one. Mind that my name ideas aren't very ranged, but you know that if you read my work. Second, personality. When I make my own OC's I give them a piece of my personality. They react somewhat like I would to a situation, so if you want that, okay, but if you want a dark brooding character, let me know in advance. Third, attire and basic look. I can't stress enough on this part. If I don't know what he or she looks like, I'll fill in the blanks on my own. You'll notice my OC's have a lot in common. Tall, odd hair and eye color, odd clothing, and strange personality traits while being able to adjust to the strangest situations a bit quickly. If you don't want a character like that, tell me what the character is supposed to be like. Without that info, you get a Lord Genesis Shadow standby OC from my personal OC generation device. These are things I need to know. Things I'd like to know are less important, but they can really help. First off, how do you want the whole thing to end? I'm not bad at suspense, so I can leave kind of an open ending so that you can fill it in yourself and make up your own way things go from there, or I can wrap it up however you like. Second, cameos. Will this tie in with other stories, shows, or whatever? For example, a My Life as a Teenage Robot fic with an OC, told from the OC's perspective. Will there be a cameo from mainstay characters or is this in the far future where the Cluster is beaten and Jenny is no longer working to protect the world while the OC takes on the task? Will there be mentions of other cartoons? Will the Mythbusters make a cameo, or will Harry Potter pass by and not be really noticed, but something odd happens and the OC spots him putting his wand away while looking around carefully? I like a good cameo, and heck, I'll throw in a cameo from one of my own characters from an entirely different fic if you want. Maybe Jack from Megas MkII will show up with Kiva all of a sudden, looking around after the faulty Time Drive sends them to the time, and something happens. Third, and this to me is important, the size of the fic. I like doing chapters that are about three thousand or so words, which often totals up to eight or nine pages in my Microsoft Word 2007, not counting the Author's Notes at the start. If you don't specify how long the chapter will be, I'll do my standard size three thousand or so words and/or nine pages. So, now that I've covered this information above, here is what the whole thing should look like when you send me the request, or at least what I think would be easiest to work with. Oh, and if you copy and paste, empty the things to the colon part and put in your information. Idea: Subject: Rating: POV: Y or N OC: Y or N plus description, as follows, but only put this part if there is an OC. If there is no OC, don't put the next part. Name: I can make one up if I have to. Extra information: Special powers, unique gifts, special abilities, and general things like that go in these parts. Extra information: You see where I'm going with this part? Each bit of extra information gets its own point. Don't just put all of the info on one big thing, because it takes time to sort through it all. Each power gets its own line, each gift or ability gets its own mention, so put as many as you please, but if I catch flack for a Mary Sue or a Gary Stu, I'll send it your way. Story length: Pages or number of words will be just fine for this part. Shout out: This is completely optional, but feel free to have me give a message to a friend, family member, or just some other Author you like. I'm not a message delivery service, but I don't mind letting someone know something. If this one shot is dedicated to a loved one, a friend, or anyone but an enemy, I'll be glad to put it in. I will not, however, send a hateful message or a taunt to someone you don't like. If I think you're messing with someone, I reserve the right to decline your request. If there is more than one OC, repeat the process until you have them all. And put their relation to each other OC. Now for the last note, I'll tell you what I will always refuse unless a good enough reason is given. This is also in list form. Yaoi pairings: It's not my thing. I'm just not comfortable with this subject, so I'm just getting that out in the open. I'm not against it, it's just not my cup of tea. Kudos if you like it, but it's not for me. Now, I will consider it as long as it's not graphic. If it's like friends realizing their true feelings for each other, I may do that, but nothing further, and it can't be the direct subject. Like two friends realizing at the end, or in the middle under stress, but I won't write solely about their love. (Update 11-16-09 1:30 AM: It may seem hypocritical that I'll do Yuri, but I like that enough that it doesn't bother me to write about it.) Suicide: This is a big one for me. I do not approve of suicide fics. I just don't like the whole thing without a damn good reason. If it's a bad guy, and he's not the focus, then maybe, or if the hero needs to give his/her life to save a friend, then, okay. If it's some hero that realizes that he/she isn't happy with life and can't take it, then you are now looking for another author. This can happen in the beginning, the middle, or the end if the hero is doing it to save a friend, or if the bad guy is trying to take out the hero and fails, or succeeds, I'm not picky there. Crack Fic: Just look for somebody else if it's pure nonsense. There is no persuading me for something like this. Drug centric: If the fic is focused on drugs or alcohol, then the hero better be trying to either quit or destroy them, or you're looking for someone else to write it. A hero, hooked on a new drug, is looking for a way to quit, or some way to destroy it so it will stop hurting people around the world, this I will do. If the hero is promoting this drug, or is forcing it on people, then I'm not your guy. Alternate Universe: I've tried it, and I failed. I can make changes, and every fic I do is in some way an AU, but only due to the addition of a new character. This isn't my strong suit, so you might be better off getting someone else. This one is a biggie, and I pray nobody asks for this. Bashing: I don't do bashing unless I happen to have a personal thing against who you're bashing. I may, but then again I may not. Go ahead and propose it, but unless this person I'll be bashing is someone I myself do not like, then I'll have to decline that part. I may still do the story, but if it solely rests on bashing the bashee, then I will apologize and send you on your way. Shipping: I'm not exactly up to date on this little fad. Specify what 'shipping' you'd have me do, and I'll see if I can make it work. I'm okay with pairings, and I'll do what I can, but if I can't make it work, then you'll have to look for someone with experience in the area. 8/6/11: Songfics: I'm not confident about these, and I doubt I'd have much luck with them. I can put a song in, a few lyrics, but I don't feel I could base a story around a song. 10/21/10: I forgot an important rule, and I'm surprised it took me this long to realize it. After I've posted your requested story, I would have you wait two weeks if you want another request, so as to give others a chance. I must now make a personal request of all that would make a request of me. Please follow this format from now on if you can. I like to know the whole idea, the character you make, the story idea, everything. And if you use constant all caps at random points, use internet terminology such as ROFLMAO, or particularly vulgar language, I will more than likely refuse. Another thing I must say, I do not do requests if the idea doesn't make sense to me or if I know a character is going to be extremely out of character or if the idea is nothing but filth, PWP, or if the focus is pure lemon, I will not do it. I am a serious writer (Of romance apparently), and I do not like people asking me for smut and smut alone. Due to all the romance requests lately (What do I mean lately? That's all I've been asked to write. Not that I'm mad, I'm just making a note of this.), I've been writing a lot of lemons. This is not to say that I put this in on my own all the time. It is part of the requests I do. I'm good at writing those scenes, so I've been asked to write them for the requests. 1-1-10: I've been taking anonymous reviews. I would like to say that I don't tolerate joke reviews, such as numbers. If you leave a review saying what number reviewer you are, it will be deleted. If enough of such reviews appear, along with begging for me to post the next chapter, bothering me pointlessly, or any such thing via anonymous reviews, I will stop allowing anonymous reviews. 10-10-13: As I've gotten into My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, I've been accepting Pony OCs, or other types of OCs if you want to add a gryphon or something that's not a pony, but no humans unless I go for a chapter involving Equestria Girls, I'm not going far out of the show's mythos, so don't try to push me, I don't push back, I stonewall. My story, my rules, after all. But as I'm accepting Pony OCs, there's a different set of rules and a different general appearance. As a general rule I consider the average height of ponies to be around seven feet tall, Unicorns maybe just a bit less, Earth Ponies just a little more. As for weight, I doubt I'll mention it, so that's there for non-ponies, as another rule. Name: Extra information: Oh, and I'd like to say that I'm thankful for every single person reading my work, and even more so for every review that you, the readers and my fellow authors, are kind enough to leave. Thank you, from the bottom of my frozen heart. To those of you that have requests in the queue, I'm afraid I'm going to have to drop them. Pokemon, Pokemon, Pokemon, with two stories not Pokemon (One of Teen Titans and one of Metal Gear Solid). I'm getting burnt out on Pokemon (Hence why postings for Gallade's Arm and Jack's Journey are so far between chapters lately), so I have to slow down or I'll lose the ability to even work on my two most well known stories for a long time. I truly hope that I get to keep my stories up, but if not, I'll see you all on DeviantArt, so don't forget to comment. Thank you for your time. |
