Author has written 1 story for Avengers. Me: I am writing in order to improve my writing skills and learn how to better express my creativity. I am often referred to as a freaky geek, so expect that to be reflected in my work. I am a betareader, if anyone wants help. Disclaimer: I only own Piper, Paige, and their families. I do not own: Basic rule of thumb: If you recognize it, I don't own it9/14/2016 Yeah so, life happened. And by life I mean my depression like evolved to become a whole new level of monster (in addition to usual school-in-the-way stuff). But I have rediscovered the strength and power writing gives me on a whole new level. I apologize to anyone that expected updates. I will now work really hard to update regularly because this is genuinely helping me battle my mental illnesses. So, my commitment is a chapter of something a week. Hopefully a chapter of Piper and a chapter of my new story. I am writing a new story that is heavily self-insert (it helps me explore and accept my character and stuff), but please feel free to review it as if it is or isn't. Most of all: PLEASE send me messages or something if I'm not updating. I NEED this, but the depression beast sometimes tries to convince me otherwise. You aren't responsible for my sanity/happiness or for updates, but a little push might help you get updates! 2/9/2017 So much happened last semester. I learned a lot about myself and Heroism saw some huge development changes, but I finally figured out how I wanted to tackle magic and how I wanted Loki and Paige's relationship to develop. By 'figured out how', I mean, of course, it somehow happened in that strange way that characters decide how you write them. But anyway, I'm back, and I need this story more than ever so I'm here to stay. 2/15/2017 I decided to just post the next three chapters this week. It's not like I unexpectedly went on hiatus earlier or anything. Anyway, feel free to skip chapter 8; it's just Paige's argument for Loki. I don't like it very much but it's the way I feel it should be. It's just annoying to read, is all. And yes, I'm LDS, and I did write a paper about the LDS church (Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) and the American West. You won't have to read too much Mormon stuff, though, because . . . well let's just say she's in a predicament regarding that. But Paige's faith is important to her character. Anyway, here's the extra chapters! 2/22/2017 I noticed a curious thing and was wondering if anyone could offer an explanation: I have a high ratio of French followers. So far my hypotheses are as follows: fanfiction.net is really popular in France The MCU/ the Avengers is really popular in France Loki is popular in France These people are part of a secret organization that wants me to take French classes again A secret organization is using me to get to my sister, because they know she can make French macaroons uncannily well The followers are all friends 3/2/2017 Hey, so, no chapter this week. It's been a super busy week with decisions about going home and spending time on mental health. There probably won't be anything next week either, but I am still working on the story (it seriously is one of the most therapeutic things I've done for myself); I've been working on the larger timeline and plot arcs, really developing the story. So, no chapters, but I promise that the story will stay alive and become even become more developed and refined. Also, I'm still curious about my French followers (pretty much anyone outside of an English-speaking country, to be honest). And shout-out to whomever was reading my story in the Bahamas! I didn't think it was that interesting compared to being in the Bahamas, so yeah, I feel cool. 3/24/2017 So, I am indeed going home. My computer will not be following me until June, and I'll be out of town for month after that. No updates until mid to late July. 7/17/2017 Due to, well I'll just call it frustrating circumstances, I will not be reunited with my computer for another month. So, that makes it probably two months until I start posting chapters again, because school will be starting and I have to figure out a whole new schedule again. Also, fun fact: I can't edit my profile from my phone. I had to borrow my mom's iPad while she's out. Fun fact number two: typing on a screen is no where near as good as using a keyboard. 8/6/2017 My cousin let me borrow his laptop for a few days. I have been using the opportunity to type out some of the in-between scenes that I've been stuck on. Because I have actually still been working on Heroism. Just without a computer, and I don't work well on paper. But last I heard my computer is still coming, so, yay! Otherwise things will be even more irritating because though I did put my existing work on a usb, I didn't export it from pages. Why can't macs and pcs be friends? Anyway, just wanted to make it clear that the story is still happening. 8/13/2017 Mi computadora is back!!! 8/16/2017 "I does me no good." Never has a typo more described my life! 9/22/2017 I spent a lot of time editing/revising and planning. The first ten chapters have been updated (no plot changes or anything). 10/17/2017 And we're back! Okay, I'm going to try to update every Tuesday. I'm thinking that around every 10 chapters I'll go through and do some editing and revising. The plan is to have about 10 weeks of new chapters, then 1 week of updates to all previous chapters, then another 10 weeks (and so on). Thank you to the reviewers and everyone that has favorited and followed my story; it means a lot to me. Reviews especially are extremely welcome; please send me any kind of comment on the work (preferably that can help me write better). I'm always looking to improve my writing. Questions are welcome, too. I know that some of the things I experience are kind of niche (Mormon culture, I'm looking at you), so if I need to clarify things, please let me know. 10/17/2017 So I just got back from class and looked at the traffic stats for Heroes. Holy crap guys, I didn't expect anyone to have read the new chapter yet! Now I'm definitely motivated to update on time. Also, shout-out to those people that actually check this page: I don't know who you are, but I'm glad the message to check here for normal author's note stuff got through, and I'm proud to have readers that follow directions (that makes my life easier, because I do worry about people giving up on a story they were reading just because they don't visit this page and have assumed I dropped the story). 10/18/2017 Oops! This chapter was supposed to be called "Hope". Spoiler alert: the next chapter is "Fear"! 10/22/2017 Chapter 12 is ready to go for Tuesday! Be prepared for some heavier stuff and a lot of dialogue. Also, please don't hate on how I present Paige's sexual orientation. This is a self-insert story that I write to help me with my own issues; Paige doesn't have to be representative or empowering for anyone but me. Also, it's something I'm still exploring, so therefore she is too. Where we end up is where we end up, whether it's the story you want to read or not. I don't want to sound mean. I want more representation in media, and proper representation. If I ever get to it, I'll write something with an OC that meets those needs. That's just not what this particular work is about. 10/27/2017 Am doing my next rewrite in between working on new chapters. Found an old piece of interest in ch9:
But if Paige is a seer and seers don't lie, how can she say she's not a seer? Is it because seers can lie, and they just don't? Is it because she doesn't believe she is a seer? Is she even a seer? Something to contemplate for the handful of people that actually read my profile until this is resolved quite a few chapters from now. (message me with a critique, even if it's really small, and maybe I'll tell you) In ch10, Paige makes a deal with Loki that results in her owing him a 'favor'. I want to know what everyone thinks he'll ask for. 11/6/2017 The reveal chapters are almost done, they should start at chapter 17. I hope everyone likes meta stuff, because, you know, that's inevitable here. It's important to know what Paige knows, or at least thinks she knows. Did anyone catch that much of what she thinks she knows of Norse mythology is wrong? Here's the timeline I reference the most while writing Heroism, by the way: http:///wiki/Timeline 11/6/2017 You know what? How about I post the chapter today; it's ready to go and why not? Here y'all go! Enjoy the bird squad! Note: the interaction with the kea is based off a cockatoo I played with at Gatorland (super cool place in Florida, 10/10), the macaws are, well, yeah that happened 11/14/2017 It isn't fair to keep Fictional Reality up since I don't know when/if I'll get back to it. Am I going to keep going with Heroism? Yes. Definitely yes. Please hound me about it if that's what it takes. As I've said before, this story is important for real-world reasons. Other news: I'm planning on cleaning this page up and I'm currently looking for betas to help with Heroism 11/27/2017 Chapter 17 isn't ready yet. I'll post the next two chapters together next week. Sorry, but things have been crazy at my house and I haven't had time to finish this week's writing. 12/5/2017 It was a busy week, and I was (am) sick. Sorry, guys. 7/27/2018 And we're back! Had some personal crap to work through, but here we are again! All old chapters are updated with better writing and more insight into Paige's thoughts (no significant plot changes, though). And I'm posting new chapters again! 8/22/2018 Running a little behind. I was out of town for awhile and came back to find over a quarter of the staff where I work had quit, so I'm working overtime right now. I'm trying to get the next chapter up by the end of the week. I'm thinking of switching to a biweekly schedule just so I'm happy with my work before I post it. |
