Author has written 29 stories for Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and High School Musical. Apparently I am once again a fanfiction writer. This could get interesting. A brief introduction to fanfiction and me: started writing proper fanfiction in proper fandoms in 2002, when I was seventeen, but really I've been dabbling in fandoms all my life... I just didn't have a name for it then. My early fanfiction is Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter parody. It's really quite terrible, but I like to keep it up so I can see how I've progressed as a writer. That and it's funny. I progressed onto more dramatic pieces after I realised that I'm not as funny as I thought I was, and so a fairly steady stream of Lord of the Rings fanfiction was produced until sometime in 2004. Between then and May of this year I posted the odd piece, but mostly I just read. I've actually been working on a collection of Harry Potter fics since sometime in 2007, but they are all yet to be posted. So all was quiet on the fanfiction front. In April, however, I discovered a rather delightful new OTP in the High School Musical fandom and, well, what can I say... I haven't been this prolific in years. Things I like to read: Harry Potter. Mostly Harry/Draco, but I've been known to read other things. High School Musical. Chad/Ryan = love, but gen is good too and I'm open to other pairings. Lord of the Rings. Not so much as I used to, but on occasion. Things I am now enjoying writing: Harry Potter. I have several fics on the go, in varying stages of completion. They will be posted when I feel they are somewhat presentable. Torchwood. It's very short, and it's Ianto/Jack preslash. That's all I'm saying. High School Musical. Chad/Ryan. Four completed, six in progress (including a collaboration with Slayya). New ideas all the time. And I mean all the time. So really, that's me in fanfiction (apart from beta reading, which I have been doing for years. My current beta charge is Chyanlover4lyf and she is awesome). In real life terms, I'm twenty three, less grown up than I probably should be, and a very big dreamer. And, yes, my name actually is Rachel. |
