Me, my stories and the plot bunnies (Evil, Slushy, Devious, Randy and Crack-Fic)... fasten your seat belts, because it's going to be a bumpy ride.
I led a blameless life for many years, until I discovered fanfiction... that's my story and I'm sticking to it. Nowadays I live with a whole warren of plot bunnies, who regularly nibble my toes and demand a new story...
There is evil plot bunny who keeps sneaking in to the house when my back is turned and making the most appalling things happen to my characters (especially Deeks, for some reason. I haven't quite figured that one out - except that he maims quite beautifully). I must point out that all the disasters, maims etc are not my fault. It's that evil plot bunny. There is a also a slushy plot bunny, who loves romance, as well as a devious plot bunny who adores complex plot-lines. And boy, do they get complex and interwoven in my K/D universe. Then there is the infamous randy plot bunny who just wants sex... he is bad. Luckily, he only comes out after dark. Finally, there is crack-fic bunny. I swear he's on something - and I just wish he'd share it with me.
Reading Order for what I laughing call my "K/D Universe"... which all started after I saw Personal.
The Prequels
Still part of the K/D universe, chronologically these stories take place before Personal Questions, but they do use themes first revealed in that story and enlarged upon in the following installments. So new readers should read the main series first!
1. Like A Hurricane (WHN for Hand to Hand)
2. Fame: What You Get Is No Tomorrow (WHN for Fame)
The K/D Universe Stories
1. Personal Questions - aka the story that begun it all! A WHN for Personal.
2. A Little Less Conversation
3. Former Glory
4. It's Just My Heart Talking
5. Comes A Time
6. The Chain
7. Never Going Back Again
8. Slipping Through My Fingers
9. Such Great Heights
Standalone Stories (these are NOT part of the K/D universe):
1 Snippets Swept From The Floor is all about hair. Of course it is - sort of. If you squint.
2. At The End Of The Day: ever had a bad day at work? then you can understand how the team sometimes feels.
3. Getting Personal is a WHN for Personal. Yes, another one. It's my favourite episode. It is full of shirtless Deeks. These two statements are not entirely unconnected.
4. In The Event of My Death: sometimes you can't actually say how you feel. Sometimes it's easier just to write it down. Especially if you think no-one will ever read it.
5. Boys Keep Swinging sees our intrepid heroes go undercover in a drag club. Just because I wondered what Sam would look like in a frock.
6. I'm Not In Love is a WHN for Plan B. Kensi thinks about Deeks & what he means to her. Deeks thinks Kensi is acting strangely. The team think there is definitely something going on. Now all Kensi and Deeks have to do is work how out they really feel about things. Simple. Yeah, right. Part 1 of a trilogy.
7. Distinguishing Features comprises missing scenes for Familia. Exactly what did Hetty put down on the form she gave to Deeks? Aims to demolish the 4th wall. With a guest appearance by Shane Brennan, GCMG (God Calls Me God).
8. That Don't Impress Me Much (ongoing): a Nate and Nell story, exploring her perceptions of her work mates.
9. You're Still the One I Want or what happened after I'm Not In Love. The course of true love never did run smoothly, especially when an old flame reappears. Part 2 of a trilogy.
10. Mon Legionnaire an alternate view on what happened in Romania. Death fic.
11. Hang Onto Yourself: and baby makes three for Kensi and Deeks. Part 3 of my trilogy. An operation goes badly wrong and Deeks is in danger.
12. Let's Dance: or how I thought Greed should have ended: i.e. with Kensi and Deeks dancing again. One-shot.
13. Stormy Weather: Kensi and Deeks spend the night together. And then things get complicated.
14. The Thing. A short tag for The Debt: because there was too much left unsaid. And because we all know they have a thing.
15. Maybe This Christmas This was possible Kensi's worst Christmas ever. Or the best.
16. The Secret Journal of Kensi Blye (ongoing): Pretty much what it says on the tin. Kensi's thoughts, on a case-by-case basis. Does she have a thing? You decide.
17. That's Just The Way It Is (ongoing): Deeks tries to figure out what's going on his life after he's injured.
18. Sonata for Two: so Deeks plays the violin. Really?
19. What Lies Between (ongoing): once you share a bed, it's difficult to forget the intimacy...
20. Paying It Forward? (ongoing): possibly the phrase least likely to be spoken by Deeks. But why does he volunteer in the soup kitchen at Christmas? And what happened after the office party in 2011?
21. There's No Such Think As A Free Ride: a 'missing scenes' interlude from the S4 episode Free Ride that addresses a rather glaring omission.
As will be immediately obvious, Deeks is my favourite character in the show. And I am rather obsessed with the relationship he has with Kensi. I am also rather partial to the odd maim or two... or even three. Can't beat a nice maim and he does maim quite beautifully.
Oh - and if you are reading this and you enjoy my stories - please review and let me know. It really does make me want to keep writing.
