Hello and welcome to my humble profile ^.^

My name is Miriam, your host for tonight and other of the below fanfics. So first of all, grab some tea (or whatever you prefer) and lean back while I tell you a little bit about myself ...

Well, I recently turned 20, I am a university student (studying philosophy and pedagogics with a bit of Latin on the side in order to become a teacher one day), I live in Bielefeld, Germany and English is not my first language, but I am trying my best. I think I am your typical mad artist ... well, kind of. One one hand, I'm hopelessly chaotic, with a first class attention deficit, strange musings and some sociopathy stirred into the mix for fun (I like my humour like my eyeliner - pitch black, way over the top and dirty). But on the other hand, I'm a bit nerdy. I like literature and any other form of art, psychology, politics, languages (I know German, English, Latin and a little bit of French, but I want to learn more), you know, all kinds of 'sophisticated' activities, but I'm also into trashy TV shows like Supernatural (guilty pleasure ...), listen to equally trashy music and internet culture. There are quite a few mangas I like and some animes (though I prefer the former). You find a list of what I currently indulge in below.

Hmm, what else ... I'm a libra and very superstitous (against my will, even), I'm into esotericism and born with some psychic abilities nobody believes me (well, I don't blame them ...), but religion-wise, I'm a (theistic) Agnostic. I do believe that some power exists in this universe, but I refuse to believe that we humans can grasp it somehow and I doubt this power is even conscious enough (by our standards) to give a damn about us personally. On the other hand, I am fine with any religion others choose to believe in. I consider myself very tolerant and in fact, I never cease to amaze the people around me with how open-minded I am. Someone once told me: "You could sit next to a mad mass murderer and talk to him without as much as lifting an eyebrow - you would just listen and accept him for what he is." I think that quote is actually rather accurate. And yes, that makes me a little proud.

Sigh, I sometimes think I am too compassionate ... I am always trying to help people, treating homeless for a meal, listening to total strangers' problems, always being polite and trying not to make a mess. It's not always a good thing (I have huge troubles standing up for myself), but hey, that's what I am.
And there are many things I am proud of. My compassion turned me into a vegetarian (and I would like to go vegan, but did not make it by now) despite my deep and undying love for meat. But fact is, I cannot let animals be harmed for my sake. It's impossible. Speaking frankly, I don't really miss meat that much ... I am a very good cook and there is other tasty food. Creativity is everything =^.^=
(I think I would make a good housewife.)

Politically, I am actually rather pragmatic. At the bottom of my heart, I am a communist, but I am realistic enough to know it will never work out, so I am supportive of democracy and a fighter for equal rights. I think everybody has the right to practice the life-style they are happy with as long as they are not harming someone else.

I am a bit of a special snowflake myself ... First of all, I identify as a lesbian and it's true that I prefer women, but it's a bit more complicated than that. I am gender-bipolar (which means there is both a female and a male personality inside of me, both are completely independent from each other and very different) and my female side (I am also biologically a female) is by far the more dominant one. My female side is lesbian. She likes women and ONLY women (though she does find Santiago Cambrera of all people extremely attractive), while my male side is a pansexual who feels attracted to people of all sexes and gender identities there are. Since his preferences are more on the physical side and not as strong, I still say I'm a lesbian, but that might be the reason I'm such a shipper for gay and straight couples as well. (All of this is not as confusing to me as it sounds. I just go with it, lol.)

As you may have noticed, I am very talkative and open about myself ... I think I'm an attention whore. I'm flattered by interest (well, who isn't ...) so if you have any questions or just want to talk to me, feel free to write me a message!

On to my favorites!

Books: Too many to mention. I have a huge collection at home. I have a thing for English literature of the 19th century, especially Oscar Wilde, who is my idol. I have devoured all of his works. And ever since my childhood, I have been a Sherlock Holmes fan. Other than that, I love Edgar Allen Poe, Stanislaw Lem and some lesser known contemporary literature, mostly surrealistic fantasy and psychological dramas. I am open for a good horror or historical novel as well.
Sadly, I don't have any book I like enough to read or write fanfic about. But I do occasionally dip into Harry Potter (which I enjoyed reading, but not love) and even Twilight (which I hate) because these are the fandoms where you can always find a gem or two of you are looking long enough.

TV shows: This is easy. I love Supernatural and Merlin. There also are some sitcoms I watch from time to time: Scrubs, Malcom in the Middle, The Big Bang Theory and How I Met Your Mother.

Mangas: Kuroshitsuji/Black Butler. Soooooo much. This manga is my life. I love it to pieces and eagerly wait for each new chapter to be released :3 Others are Pandora Hearts, Dokuhime (it's so underrated, but so damn beautiful - you should check it out!), Girl Friends, Necromancer, Bartender, Mondlicht ~ Tsuki no Tsubasa (it features lesbian zombies and vampires :3) and lately, Nabari no Ou. I used to read and love Bleach, but it jumped the shark lately, so I gave up.

Animes: Not a fan of animes, but Welcome to the NHK! is awesome. So is No. 6. I also enjoyed Ao no Excorcist and Kyo Kara Mao. Oh, and Strawberry Panic! for the ridiculous over-the-top cuteness and sweet, sweet yuri.

Movies: French and Spanish art movies. I've recently started to like Italian movies as well. I don't really have a lot of favorite movies, but my favorite of all times is, without any doubt, Mr. Nobody. I could watch this again and again, it always captivates me anew.

Fandoms, characters & ships

Kuroshitsuji

Characters:

- Sebastian Michaelis. He most certainly is an asshole and I would not be caught dead fangirling over him, but I love him like you would love an annoying younger brother. I can also relate to him a lot and writing from his POV is really easy for me - I practically just am myself in a demon's body. That's kinda cool. I've never had a character like this before.
- Ciel Phantomhive, obviously. Him I do fangirl and I think creating a 12-/13-year-old this hot should be forbidden, but I mostly love him for his stubbourness and bossy attitude. Oh, and his pride! Teasing and embarressing him is so much fun ...
- Lau. Oh, Lau, that hilarious fellow. Everyone always tells me I am exactly like Lau, but well ... I'm too shy. And I'm not into drugs other than alcohol. (Well, occasionally ...)
- Ran Mao. Doesn't talk much, but I'm in love with her anyway. I think she has some hidden depths.
- Aleister Chamber, Viscount of Druitt. He's insane. He's hammy. He loves arts, beautiful women (especially young ones) and makes references to Ancient Rome. I think we would get along just~ fine.
- Beast. Why did she have to die? T.T I loved her so damn much. (And I will never forgive Sebastian for treating her this way.)
- Bardroy, the world's greatest cook and my favorite Phantomhive servant. I like Mey Rin as well. Finnian and Tanaka ... not so much.
- Anime-wise, I hate everyone. EVERYONE. That includes Sebastian and Ciel. And all of the minor characters. The only exception is Hannah Anafeloz, that magnificent bitch. Team Hannah all the way!!!

Ships:

- Sebastian x Ciel. OTP. Especially with seme!- or dom!Ciel. While I'm not opposed to shotacon in general, I require it to be tasteful. Descriptions of how Sebastian's massive penis (which he always seems to have in Kuro smut fanfics) almost tears apart Ciel's tiny orifices make me want to puke. I think I prefer older!Ciel anyway ...
- Mey Rin x Ran Mao. Perfection in every way. I just loooove this pairing. Sadly, there is no fanfic for it yet. I will have to change that.
- Beast x Doll. I once wrote a OneShot about them and fell in love. It's so cute.
- William x Finny. It works in my head. And how.
- William x Grell. The only problem I have with this is that I picture Will as totally 100% gay. I don't know why, that's just how it is. (I get the same impression about Edward for some reason.) And Grell is ... well, transsexual. That makes him a female.
- Ronald x Grell. I think it's somewhat canon from Ron's side ... They would be a lovely chaotic couple.
- Grell x Nina. Think about it - it would sooooo work!
- Ryan x Angelina. Cracktastic, but lovely. :3
- Frances x Angelina. Same as above.
- Rachel x Anglina, 'cause a little incest can't hurt.
- Angelina x Elizabeth
- Elizabeth x Paula
- Elizabeth x Mey Rin
- Elizabeth x Finny
- Aleister x Elizabeth
- Aleister x Ciel, one-sided
- Aleister x Rachel. My sis got me hooked.

Pet peeves:

- Stay away from me with blushing-shota!Ciel. He's not one who should be ukefied. fem!Ciel is another thing I can't stand for the heck of it. Well, unless everyone else is gender-reversed as well ... (At least that would be fair.)
- Sebastian x anyone who's not Ciel, Ciel x anyone who's not Sebastian. I'm tolerant, but I don't read it (unless it's one-sided). I am very, very supportive of this pairing. While I do have a thing for pairings like Sebastian x Bard, Sebastian x Ran Mao and Lau x Ciel, I just cannot read or write even a one-shot about one of these. It kills me inside.
- The typical "serial killer in London" scenario. It's getting old.
- mPreg in general, pregnant!Ciel in particular. It makes no sense to violate all laws of nature when right next to the cute shota boy, there's a shape-shifting demon. SHAPESHIFTING. Keep that in mind. Sebastian could be a woman if he wanted to.
- All kinds of Lizzy-bashing. Honestly, I don't like her either (or maybe I do, I haven't made up my mind about it yet), but portraying her as an annoying eyesore whom everyone hates is just not appropriate. I also hate it when people give her a practically non-existent character and let her do nothing but randomly pop up and shout "kawaii! .- Speaking of which ... Fangirl Japanese. Kuroshitsuji takes place in England. Think about it. The only Japanese character is Tanaka and he speaks English fluently.
- goofball!Grell. She's not stupid. And manga-wise, she is NOT destracted by anyone's sex appeal.
- Anime-bases stories. Not because of the stories, but because I loathe the anime with a burning passion.

Pandora Hearts

Characters:

- Gilbert Nightray. He is adorable. And made of win.
- Alice. I love her temper and how passionate she can be about things. It's just wonderful to see her happy about something.
- Charlotte. My Lotti. Damn, is she hot, and damn, is she amazing.
- Echo. Funny girl. Gotta love her~

Pairings:

- Gil x Oz x Alice. OT3. It's canon.
- Vincent x Leo. Hooo boy.
- Vincent x Gil. Yay for clingy brothers.

Kyo Kara Mao!

Characters:

- Wolfram von Bielefeld. I LIVE in Bielefeld, this makes me so happy :3 Also, he's awesome.
- Gwendal von Voltaire. Though I like him better in the light novels for some reason.
- Yuuri Shibuya for being adorkable.

Pairings:

- Wolfram x Yuuri with gentle seme!Wolf. Clingy, jealous fiancés with short temper are the best. (Well, save for Lizzy ... but only because she really doesn't fit with Ciel in my eyes.)
- Gwendal x Yuuri. Awww.
- Conrad x Wolram. Guilty pleasure.

Pet Peeves:

- Ukefied Wolram. I consider him rather manly ... (He can be bottom, though. Just not girly.)

Supernatural

Characters:

- Gabriel. Oh, Gabriel :3 (If I were a Mary Sue trapped in the SPN verse [God, the horror of it!, I'd go after him.)
- Meg. Ever since season 2.
- Balthazar - Favorite. Angel. Ever. (I miss him *sniff*)
- Ruby. Yes.
- Castiel ... well, back then, when he used to be adorkable. (And alive.)
- Lucifer, especially Mark Pellegrino's impersonation. Woaaaaaaah, is he made of epic win. Hotter than hell, I swear.
- Dean Winchester, at least most of the time.
- The leviathans are kinda cool.

Pairings:

- Sassy, Destiel, Sam/Cas/Dean triangle.
- Wincest, to a degree.
- Balthazar/Castiel
- Lucifer/Sam for the BDSM tension. (Holy cow, it's sooo canon it's not even funny anymore.)
- Ruby/Meg
- Ruby/Anna
- Dean/Ben 'cause I'm shameless.
- Open for pretty much everything. It keeps changing ever so often.

Pet Peeves:

- Descriptions of how 'delicate' Dean (or sometimes even Sam) is. What the hell? I think he's rather muscular and my eyes are actually damn good.
- The usual. Haven't read many fics in a while now, I think I will add things to the list soon.

Merlin

Characters:

- Morgana. The hotness is killing me. The further the spirals down into darkness, the more I like her.
- Merlin, of course. 'Adorable' is the understatement of the year.
- Lancelot. I don't know why, in fact he's a bit Puritiy Stu-ish, but he always puts that big, big smile on my face and I want to hug him all the time. Much like Merlin. (And yes, I'm sure Lance WILL come back.)
- Uther. I'm his No. 1 fangirl. Why? Sure, burning people for using magic is not the right thing to do and he is a big damn hypocrite, but I think that is exactly what makes him such a well-rounded and captivating character.
- Hunith. Hope she appears again soon ...

Pairings:

- Arthur/Merlin. Most obviously. The bromance can't be denied.
- I'm not a huge fan of Arthur/Gwen (I'm fine with it, though), but Gwen/Arthur/Merlin (going all three ways) is amazing. Also: Merlin/Gwen. For the Awws.
- Merlin/Lancelot. This obsession started out with a fanfic I'm writing and season 4 did a LOT to make it worse.
- Uther/Merlin. I loooooooove this pairing. So angsty :3
- Morgana/Gwen. Used to love it, but I think this ship has been successfully sunken by season 3.
- Morgause/Morgana. Sadly, this has been sunken as well ...
- Uther/Morgana. Same here.
- As of season 4, Percival/Elyan. Yes, please!
- Crack alert: Nimueh/Freya. Yep.

Pet Peeves:

- Gwen-bashing. Poor girl IS a Purity Sue, but likable either way.
- Nothing else yet, mostly because the fandom is incredibly peaceful and reasonable. There's a few Sues out there, but other than that ...

Downton Abbey

Characters

- Thomas Barrow. Without a doubt my absolute favorite. Come on, he is a evil gay footman played by super-hottie Rob James-Collier! How am I supposed NOT to put him into leatherpants? I looove him.
- Sarah O'Brien, his BFF. She's amazing as well, I love her sharp tongue. And her past is a mystery to me, I'd like to find out more.
- Daisy. Ain't she a cutiepie? - Edith Crawley. Poor girl just needs some credit! If your whole existence was ignored by everyone, wouldn't you be a bitch as well? I like her. She's right about many things and I agree with her most of the time. (Also, we both dislike Mary - mwhaha!)
- Elsie Hughes 'cause she's cool.
- John Bates. Admit it, you want him to be your dad, too!
- Anna. Sweet, sweet Anna.
- Sybil Crawley because she is just as sweet.
- His Lordship, Robert Crawley. For his soft heart.
- Tom Branson because he is Irish. And a socialist, like myself. (You're allowed to brick me.)
- Charles Carson because he's the butler. And butlers rock. (I am not prejudiced, no, not at all!)
- Beryl Patmore because she's cool.
- Ethel Parks ... just because. She's funny and cute with her naivité.

Pairings:

- Cora/Sarah. Soooo much.
- Mary/Lavinia. Those two used to have better chemistry than Mary and Matthew will EVER have.
- Edith/Mary. For the foe yay.
- Sybil/Gwen. Or Tom/Sybil/Gwen, because I actually like Tom/Sybil (not crazed about it, though).
- John/Anna. The only canon pairing I ship.
- Edith/Ethel. For the crack. (I think it'd fit.)
- Edith/Daisy. See above. (And yes, I'm totally serious about it.)
- Thomas/Patrick Gordon. What's better than one trickster? Right, two of them!
- Freddy/Charlie, anyone? Fufufu.

Pet peeves:

The fanfics I've read so far were amazing, so I haven't made bad experiences yet.

Harry Potter

Characters:

- Sybil Trelawney. Lovelovelove her! She's so deliciously hammy and chaotic ...
- Bellatrix Lestrange. Beautiful, insane, sadistic ... exactly my type of woman.
- Luna Lovegood. Sympathetic daydream believer and conspiracy theorist who gets bullied a lot ... I can relate.
- Neville Longbottom. All together now: Awwwwww.
- Fleur Delacour. Don't ask me why, but I think she's so cool.

Pairings:

- Everything but Harry/Draco, Draco/Hermione, Harry/Hermione and the canon pairings. (I'm cool with Neville/Hannah.) I don't hate those ships, though. It depends on how the author handles them. (They're usually handled very, very badly ... Sorry guys.)

Pet Peeves:

- Ginny-bashing, Pansy-bashing, Ron-bashing ... Come on, people, what did these characters ever do to you? (And I personally hate Ginny. I think she's a bitch. That doesn't justify demonizing her.)
- Canon-Sues. It's a big problem in the fandom.
- Prettying the characters up. Snape is not meant to be gorgeous. Neither is Hermione. Or anyone else who isn't described as beautiful. That doesn't mean another character can't find them attractive, it's just a matter of how far you take it. Speaking of Snape's "shiny onyx hair" is certainly not appropriate.

Twilight

Characters:

- Leah
- Charlie
- Tyler's van
- Carlisle, though he's creepy

Pairings:

- Rosalie/Bella OTP :3
- Bella/Alice
- Leah/Bella
- Carlisle/Edward
- anything, really, as long as it's better than the books

Pet Peeves:

- The books themselves. People who actually take them seriously.
- People who think that Edward and Bella's relationship is healthy and romantic. Seek some professional help immediatly.
- The gratuitous rape in Twilight fanfics. Yay.
- Goffic AUs. They're dime a dozen and even worse than the original. ALL of them.

General fanfic pet peeves (since we're on it):

- Mary Sues/Gary Stues, gratuitous OCs (when they're really not needed). I usually avoid those, but I can't help wanting to puke all over my computer when I see them.
- Like-wise: Canon-Sueification. Blech.
- Fangirl Japanese. Stop it. It hurts my brain.
- Badly written lemons. If you have no idea how sex works, Wikipedia is your friend. At least look up the male (or female, dear fanboys) anatomy. It will help you.
- Canon violations of all kinds. AUs don't count if done properly.
- mPreg fics. Blech. If it's plausible, I might give it a chance. (See Kuroshitsuji.)
- Portraying rape as love. No ... Just no. It's not cute or hot or a sign of affection. IT'S A FUCKING HATE CRIME. Doesn't that get through your thick skulls, fangirls and fanboys?
- Character bashing of all kinds. At least treat a character you hate with respect.
- Deatheatering characters (making them evil/emphasizing their character flaws inappropriately) or putting them into leatherpants (portraying evil characters in an over-the-top sympathetic light). I like to explore the shades of grey, that can be interesting. But just don't overdo it because you think a character is lame or cool/hot.
- Songfics are okay with me, but simply posting a songtext in the middle of a chapter and having a random character sing it is ridculous. And unnecessary.

- If you want to be my betareader, message me. I could need someone who's good with British English since I mostly write for Kuroshitsuji and it takes place in England, I want to be true to that.

- I tend to write long and very honest reviews. I mean no harm to you, but I have a right to state my opinion and after all, I only want to help you with getting better at writing. Nobody is perfect, but you can always improve. And look on the bright side: If I praise you, I really mean it.
