This is a rewrite of S5 Finale, where Arthur lives to realise the Golden Age of Camelot and to return magic to the kingdom with the help of his closest friend and councillor, Merlin. However, the path to reach their ideals never runs smoothly as old and new enemies rise up to challenge the destiny of Albion.

Merlin and Arthur both grew up with only one parent caring for them, protecting them, and teaching them. Each one is almost an orphan. Arthur wants to know what having a mother is like while Merlin wants to learn what having a father is like.

He raised his hands and pressed the tender, warm skin of his palms to his friend's wet cheeks, grasping his face and looking into his tearful blue eyes. "She said that you're strong.
