Author has written 6 stories for Yu-Gi-Oh. Hello, my name is Trillian75. Thank you for visiting, reading and reviewing my work! My focus for the time being is on Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monsters. For whatever reason, at this point in my life, this series is resonating with me so much more now than during its original run. I love Seto Kaiba. I have always found him a fascinating character. I have some things in common with him, including brown hair, blue eyes, an analytical personality, a skeptical outlook on life, a bit of a sarcastic streak, and a close relationship with my younger sibling. Perhaps if I had been born male and had a much more tragic upbringing, we'd have even more in common. He also has an unlimited amount of resources, being so rich, which makes him fun to play with as a character...anything you can imagine, Seto Kaiba can do. I met Eric Stuart, Kaiba's English VA, at a convention this spring, and found that he and I have similar views on the character. Yugi needs his friends for support, but he also needs Kaiba, as the hero always needs a foil to spur him on to true greatness. As far as pairings are concerned, I am most fascinated by Prideshipping (Kaiba/Yami Yugi). Even if you don't like yaoi/slash pairings, you must admit that Kaiba and Yami had a certain passion for each other that they channeled into their rivalry, and, over the course of the series, a growing respect for each other. It's not hard to imagine this growing to love and/or deep friendship given enough time, and it would likely take time to get over Kaiba's own internal defenses. If you think about it in canon, it's a very tragic pairing, because they were not given that time. Prideshipping also neatly solves the Yugi/Yami/Anzu love triangle present in the canon series, which appeals to me--Prideshipping and Peachshipping (Yugi/Anzu) go together quite well. Also, there will be more Rivalshipping (Kaiba/Yugi). This little obsession kind of sneaked up on me, a little kernel of an idea that turned into "Coffee with the King of Games." While writing that story, I realized how well these two play off each other. If Kaiba can get past his internal defenses to accept Yugi's friendship, who knows what might happen? I don't think there are enough good Rivalshipping stories. I definitely want to write more. I've got a lot written in various stages of completion that may or may not ever be good enough to put on here...sometimes things need to mellow a bit in order for me to tell. Thanks for reading, and thanks for stopping by! |
