![]() Author has written 12 stories for SWAT Kats. Hey, I'm a SWAT Kat fan and the editor/owner of Jake and Chances Garage on Facebook, and of Megakat_Salvage on Twitter. I used to do a lot of writing in school, like elementary, high school... then I got into text based role playing games in college. I kinda disappeared into that world for a few years. Anyway, as a kiddo I watched SWAT Kats and loved it. And then I wrote what I suppose you'd call fan fic. Basically I was writing ideas for episodes. I don't think I ever heard the term 'fan fic' until I was in my twenties. As a kid I acted out and wrote out situations for my favorite cartoon characters, mainly SWAT Kats and the Transformers. I'm sure there were others too but I can't recall currently. I guess I'm a drama queen with all the battering I'm doing to the people I'm writing about, but I'm trying to be extremely accurate in the medical situations. Nothing galls me so much as somebody being shot in the shoulder or the gut or in the leg and then an hour later they're running from zombies or whatever. I got offended one day after reading a free Kindle book at how... unrealistic the medical situations were. (It was a cruddy book in general, but still.) So basically I'm obsessing about how they'd react to injuries and trying to be as accurate as possible with anthropomorphic, talking cats with a K. Riiiiiiight. It doesn't make sense to me either, but I'm having fun doing it. I am sure I am making mistakes. I do a lot of research to make sure I'm semi-accurate. But then, these guys are anthropomorphic talking KATS. I can pretend it's different right? ((I posted my first story A Chance to Live on the SWAT Kats section on 4/11/15, and by 4/14/15 I already was getting reviews and favorites. I am so, so flattered pleased and really, really excited. I hope I can continue to entertain.)) Right now my writing is evolving into some stand alones, and four very specific storylines: Stand alone stories: 'Dreams of Stars' and 'Crossing over the Between' are unrelated to each other, and unrelated to other storylines I'm working on. 'When You Lie Down' and its sequel, 'Though I Fall I Will Rise' are unrelated to other storylines I'm working on. !!!!!!!A WARNING NOTE: These stories can be upsetting for someone who's lost a loved one recently.!!!!!!! Unfortunately I think there's more to write in this line. The Clawson Labs Universe: 'A Chance to Live' and 'A Chance to Die' are related in storyline. Once I get 'A Chance to Live' finished there are upcoming stories in this universe mostly under the title 'Clawson Labs Blogs' (as yet unpublished). 'Down, Down, Down in the Ground' and its upcoming sequel (tentatively titled 'A Red Letter Day') are a separate storyline also unrelated to the other works. 'A Date with Felina' and its upcoming sequel are also a separate storyline unrelated to the other works. |
