The Darkest of Hour's (Rewrite)

So, for all those that read the first one, it's going to have a different beginning, but the same ending. It's going to be a lot better than the last, with longer chapters, more cliff-hangers, and more description of the places they go to.

Now, I think that's pretty good for a fandom that has barely over 100 fan-fictions. I'm proud of myself for getting that far and creating a sequel to the story, one that I called The Darkest of Ruler's, but i won't be putting that one up until i finish this.

Also, for anyone who read the story and liked it, TheChargingRhino made a fan-fiction of MY fan-fiction. It may not make much sense if you haven't read the first book in my series, or the first in hers, but please, read if you want. I'm very happy with what she's done with it. Here's the link (ha! Ahh...yeah. I've started something new. I did it in my spare time, and hey, it just happened to end up here. I'm surprised with how much success it's had; I haven't even watched much Ninjago! Not that I'm complaining...

Not sure If I'm going to do the chapter novels just yet. They tell the very vague story of Kai: from the pilot season, all the way to season 8. With my own spin, of course, as it's an AU concerning Time Loops. Especially season 8.

The chapter novels are looking quite good in the long run, but if I do end up writing them, I'll have to wait and finish the rest of my stories. Really, it depends on whether I want to watch the whole series or not. Who knows what I'll do.

EDIT 2/04/18: The chapter-ed series will be coming sometime after I finish Ghosts of the Past (and maybe The Darkest of Hours). I am also putting all of the connected one-shots into one book to make it easier to navigate.

EDIT 29/04/18: An epilogue will be added to the end of the 10 chapters in Lloyds' POV. It'll be long (probably) and hopefully worthwhile, but hey. Thought I'd end it on a more positive note then a sad one. It'll be a few months before it's finished, so please, bear with me.

EDIT: 4/06/18: Uhh... I kinda just decided that I'm going to do something after Lloyd's POV. You'll see why after you read Repent, which still has a fair ways to go.

Possible (and asked) Questions

Does the enemy with a numbered mark remember each timeline?

Yes, they do. Whoever is marked (being Kai's no. 1 enemy) remembers each Time Loop. In season 5, Chen was the one who remembered everything. In season 6, Morro. I think you get the picture.

Why is Kai's personality different?

Kai went through a lot. His arrogance usually cost the ninja team their lives, so Kai ended up maturing a lot quicker than he should have. Seeing his friends die around him hurt, and every time he saw it he'd lose a bit more of that fun part of himself, resulting in a bit of a darker Kai. However, we do still see snippets of who he used to be. It's not seen much in 'Remember The Loops? (I Don't Expect You To)', but you will see a bit in the first book, 'Saving Nya'. When it's posted, of course.

If any, 'Remember Me?' fits to his personality more than the other chapters in 'Remember The Loops? (I Don't Expect You To)'. Though the opinion may be flawed; as I haven't see much of the Ninjago series, I haven't developed a close bond with every character, so I don't know what they'd say when. Wiki was (and still is) my friend.

Are Kai and Lloyd Together?

When I was writing this, I wasn't thinking about that pairing. Though when asked by one of my friends, I realized that it does (somewhat) fit. Though it is supposed to be just a friendship, I'll leave it up to you guys whether of not you want to see it like that.

Basically, it's supposed to be platonic to stick to canon as best I can.

EDIT:

Strictly platonic. Kai and Lloyd are best friends in this AU and they've grown even closer then in the show because of the loops (and nightmares).

You guys can think whatever you wish, though. I'm not stopping you.

How and when do the numbers appear?

While it is unknown 'how' the numbers appear, it is suggested that they are burnt into the skin from some eternal heat; I like to think that because Kai is the elemental master of fire, his skin burns from the heat of some kind of reaction. A bit like how energy is like light, and therefore extremely hot. Think of it like Kai's gifted power is reacting to something badly.

The numbers appear when a new adventure starts; in season 0, Kai's mark appears when he wakes up, though the process occurred when he was sleeping.

Why does a numbered mark glow?

The glow on a numbered mark signifies that a Time Loop is in progress. It means that every time Kai dies, the Loop resets and he wakes up in his own body at the start of the loop.

Other numbers of previous loops will not glow after they stop glowing; only one mark glows at a time.

What happens when a numbered mark stops glowing?

When a number stops glowing, it means that the Time Loop has ended. For example, if Kai died after a loop finished (number has stopped glowing), he'd stay dead.

Is anything the same in the AU season 8?

The evil characters are all there, as well as certain events occurring. But that's about it.

SPOILERS for Season 8:

Basically, Garmadon's rise is prolonged because of what happened to Kai (and what Lloyd did after it). It happens about a year or two after the events of season 8, where Lord Garmadon is ready to kick some butt. You could call it a prolonged season 8, if you want.

I'm still deciding whether or not I'll make what Lloyd does at the end a thing, but hey. It's looking juicy but I'm not sure if I want to take a bite (as I'd have to wait for season 9 to come out).

Been hit by school...part of a new program and it's been condensed, so this year will be much faster...yay...

However, I will endeavor to finish what I have posted. GotP will be focused on, however I am gaining ideas for Chapter 12 of 'Remember the Loops? (I Don't Expect You To)', Responsibility, and will get back to that one soon. I really want to get Evasion right, so that may take a while before it is out, however, the ideas are flowing for it.

Sengoku Basara is my anime at the moment, so if something is written for that I'm not sorry. Really (not) sorry.

So, sorry for my lack of updates. I'm currently in the middle of a tidal wave, but am not dead and don't plan to be.
