![]() Author has written 27 stories for Harry Potter, and Sweeney Todd. Introductions are in order: To whom it may concern, I am Severus Sortiarius and (Formerly, The Sortiarius13) if you've been on Wattpad. Originally, when I began writing fanfiction it was simply out of admiration for those of you whom have done so before me. I am still very much a fan of the late Miss Fig (Ruth Solomon) and I am truly saddened by her loss I recall her rather dark and seedy version of Severus Snape and the various side characters. I am a major fan of the late Alan Rickman and have been since I was younger mostly due to my late grandmother owning a good deal of his movies in her video collection. She is the only reason I ever went to see Harry Potter in theaters, Order of Phoenix being the last she saw before her passing. As a result Order of Phoenix and Half-Blood Prince are my favorites from the films and books. Unlike most of you, I did not read the Harry Potter series growing up and quite frankly couldn't stand the fact that it always made my headache. Not due to the volume I was reading the work of Shakespeare at a young age and knew the tragedies of Othello, Macbeth (The Scottish Play), and Hamlet (No not the Lion King) by heart. After a good deal of debating with my younger sister whom had a major crush on Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter), I was forced to watch the films and only agreed to do so once I noted among the actors the names of Alan Rickman and Maggie Smith. As one could imagine, Severus Snape and Minerva McGonagall are my favorite characters. Although I have become rather fond of Hermione Granger and Draco Malfoy as well as Lucius Malfoy, Narcissa Malfoy, Remus Lupin, and Bellatrix LeStrange over the course of the series. I do not like the characters of Lily Evans (no matter how many excuses people give about her saving Harry), James Potter (Not a single redeemable bone in his arrogant prat body), Sirius Black (Celebrated his death as much as Snape did in the books and fell head over heels for Bellatrix LeStrange's character the moment she killed him.), Dumbledore (is a spineless lying sack of human excrement and you all known it, he caused Harry to be orphaned on purpose and tricked Severus into servitude, don't even get me started on his treatment of Slytherin students or any student not Gryffindor related) I have been intrigued by Petunia Evans recently considering somethings about her don't quite add up and judging people from the perspective of an idiotic lazy arrogant self absorbed child who is ALWAYS WRONG about his assumptions of those around him is never a good sign for a healthy mind. I loathe Harry James Potter, he is as lazy, arrogant, self absorbed as his father James just as Snape said he was. I find it amusing that people argue about how "Heroic an idiotic child is when his entire saga was planned by Dumbledore from the moment The Divination Professor entered the Hog's Head Inn. He was utterly disrespectful to his elder Severus Snape simply because Snape wouldn't kiss his arse like the other teachers save McGonagall. In the order of Phoenix he repeatedly says he wants Snape to die simply because he should according to Harry Potter but when Snape actually dies (despite the fact that he could have been saved by either of them...Hermione...) He suddenly announces that he didn't ask Snape to die for him. (Pompous arse). Draco Malfoy had the worst end of the war with Voldemort living at his HOUSE while Harry was tucked away with only bad dreams to contend with. I rooted for Draco to kick his arse and it was satisfying although the movie doesn't give it justice. Moving on, Constructive Criticism is always welcome, I would never turn away well meaning advice not matter how bad it may be. But I don't care in the least for trolls or those who take it upon themselves to play Insufferable know it alls with someone else's work...to me you people get in your own way and you can't write so you dictate to others. In the words of Finding Forester's William Forester (Sir Sean Connery) "Those That Can Do, Those That Can't Teach..." Contrary to the B.S. you were taught in school, writing is done from the heart when attempting to accomplish something on your own terms. If you are too busy telling your heart what to do you can't feel the words or gather the information needed to "paint the perfect picture with words as it were." If you can't feel it then neither can the reader, if you can't feel then how can you see. If you are looking for a place to lecture find a classroom. Giving a few pointers is all well and good but don't badger the aspiring writers to death or you will cause whomever is typing a story you find interesting to lose interest in their work and quit all together. If that was your aim in the first placed because you are little more than a joyless troll, you deserve the pity awarded to fools for daring to keep the doors locked on what could have been a master piece simply because you couldn't be the one to create it. If you reviewers and readers have an interest in your favorite author writing for a series you are fond of outside of their usual fandom, why not actually ask them if they could try it instead of badgering them about how they aren't good enough writers to try and worm your request into their scope of practice. They say ask and you shall receive and if not then write it yourself if you feel so bloody strongly about it and you will note that it isn't as easy to make words come to life as your condescending advice believes it to be. I am a perfectionist, and as such I don't like to be told what I'm doing wrong or why I should do anything anyone else' way. I already give myself the third degree. And the ghost of my overbearing grandmother (who was a on the boarder Leo/Virgo) is more than enough of a want to be Siskel and Ebert. If you're interested in my original works outside of the fandoms then I'll list them here and the site they are on. TO THOSE WHO HAVE READ MY WORK ON WATTPAD: Wattpad deactivated my account and I have no intention of getting it restored as I've worked two years and some months to make original stories on that account and they are lost in the void at this point and I am quite enraged I shall continue here with the fanfiction if only to finish what I've started, but the original works are gone none of us will ever be able to known the end of any of those stories. Sad thing is I was writing those tales for free just for the purpose of giving some people something to read in their downtime. The bottom line is folks I've been writing since I knew how to hold a pencil and it's always been an obsessive habit of mine so I could do without the insults to my work, I do just fine on my own with that. As for the spelling errors, I know how to fix them in my own good time this isn't Language or Grammar Class. Minor point outs when I miss a few things are greatly appreciated but the brow beating isn't if you're a teacher then go talk that nonsense to a classroom. Also if I find another review that has the words "FOR THE LOVE OF GOD" as an overreaction to your hyper criticism then I recommend you find a jacket that lets you hug yourself because if you're that anal you've possibly been toilet trained at gun point and are crying out for help. I write for the mature, and if you aren't suppose to be reading my work or if it isn't your cup of tea then go read something else. I am not your nurse maid or your baby monitor. As for those whom have supported me since my early attempts on this site and others, THANK YOU and I appreciate you all. Your reviews that have a point and merit make me smile as much as some of the work I've done makes you smile. I write from the heart as old William Forester once advised a young aspiring basketball star. When I bother to go back and do some editing, It'll be from my head. R.I.P. Alan Rickman- Our Half Blood Prince, when I write about you it's as if you've never left and I smile a little more again. With Respect-S.S. |
