Author has written 16 stories for Teen Titans, Bleach, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, Harry Potter, and Digimon. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows spoilers ahoy for all of this bio. You have been warned. Prior to Deathly Hallows' release, I have quite given up on using this account as anything else but a convenient method getting alerted to my favorite stories. Sometime after finishing the book, I started surfing the internet just to see people's reaction to it--and imagine my surprise when my fan-mood jumped into Harry Potter, and stayed there for quite a while. I am especially entranced by the next generation. To me, Harry's story is already completed and given a complete close; I don't think I'd want to add anything to his life. His kids, though, while only appearing for a brief, is an excellent media for showing how Harry and friends have grown, for as much as children can grow to be different from their parents, there must be some values that they pass. It's also interesting to see how much Harry and co. have revolutionized the world (or not, judging by Ron's disparaging comments). And let's face it, those kids are conveniently blank slates, perfect to be modeled according to an author's wishes and yet still connected to the canon-established characters. Mary Sues, yes, but hey, as long as they are believable and well-written you can't actually complain. Of course, that means that they will have about ten different templates for each of them. Oh, well...at least I'm trying to be as original as possible. JKR's most recent interview is the point of deviation from canon, if the interviews can be considered as such. I'm not really affected by it outside of being genuinely amused by the new details. Those Who Inherit is your, hopefully, not so standard story of the next generation going to Hogwarts. What's the premise? Well, nothing like Harry and co.'s journey, but I'll tell you that I like adventure and mystery stories, and drama and romance are not my priority. Not for the first year of TWI, anyway. Actually, I do think my house choices and personalities for the next 'trio' has gone against many fanon already. The hit counts for chapter two is higher than chapter three...what, my choice of house turns people off? Haha. In For One, In For All is, like I keep writing down, originally set to be a part of The Other Side's fifth year plot, but I decided that it will make complications and whatnot, so I make it a separate story. The background and character portrayals are still the same, so you can say that I just want an excuse to write these kids without a convoluted plot. Inexperienced as I am with romance (in real life and fiction), I want to try and explore some things. Unfortunately, writing this fic first will mean that when Those Who Inherit does come out, some things will not be a surprise. I think it's fairly obvious who Scorpius is going to be paired up in the end. If not, then good for me. I don't think that part's the focus anyway. I'm more interested in the 'why' this instead of that, and 'how' to get there. ...and of course, along the way, we're allowed to pick up some other genres. Whoops. My livejournal account should have more info about these stories. And yes, this does mean that the other fics are abandoned at best. I think the ideas of them have vanished entirely. After some re-reading to see how far I've improved, I can say that I've done that a lot. Those early works are rather terrible, if you ask me. No wonder they don't have many reviews. The other odd thing is that some ideas just keep getting recycled over and over again. I'm that unoriginal, apparently. |
