August 15th, 2019 - Bit of an update- I've moved to AO3. There's not much of anything there, but my AO3 is Mew_Shadowfang. Perhaps I'll see some of you?

Hi and welcome to my profile, I guess.

So, some very random facts about me:

I'm a girl
I can only be obsessed with one thing at a time
I love cats (and seem to have the ability to instantly recognize potential cat-people)
I seem to have convinced myself Heaven is really a place called Marshmallow Land
Things I'm currently obsessing over and will probably write/read fanfiction for: Splatoon, anything related to Splatoon, I am complete and utter squid kid trash now

So yeah.

Something really worth checking out: Need to get into the mood for a certain scene, or trying to find inspiration but at a dead end? I highly recommend using and . They are two very helpful sites, whether you need a perfect name, advice on how to build certain characters and scenes, or inspirational music. They are also completely solo projects, of a kind human being called Emily, please consider donating or spreading word of her work if you really enjoy it!

The following list are short story ideas/summaries that I hope will one day hatch.

Master of The Wind-TFM: A young Wind Master mouse is playing in a normal room when suddenly the world shakes and the ground trembles. She learns that other than the great Shaman Goddess Elisah, there are 5 other powerful beings who represent the 5 skill trees. Unlike the Goddess, these beings are not immune to permanent death. These beings have to take on an apprentice mouse each to become the new representative. And when an ancient evil begins to rise, the apprentice Wind Master finds herself thrown into an adventure she never could've had as a normal mouse. (Up for adoption)
Speared-SU: If Pearl had brandished her spear against Peridot during the robot competition, how would things go from there? (Honestly, this is a very loose idea. The most probable outcome is that it will never come to life, and if it does the most it'll be a short one-shot) (Up for adoption)
Thorns- SU: Legend told of a valiant protector and her loyal warrior that fought for their lands to be free, until the protector was killed, and the warrior reduced to a wild spirit who supposedly takes 10 souls every hundred years on the night the protector was killed. Steven knows better than to believe these supernatural tales, but what if it were true?
Burning Ember-WOF (May change title of story) A Skywing egg holding twins is born, but one of them holds too much fire. The Skywings drop the egg off a mountain, but by a stroke of luck it survives. The twins are born, secretly living in the Skywing Kingdom, and through their experiences they name themselves. Ember, the dragonet with firescales, is the older of the two and he must protect himself and his sister if other dragons found out about his scales.
King of Horns -(Misc) For years the Kingdom of Narwhals have suffered under a cruel and powerful king. Every year, the top cadets from the Hidden Academy go forth to try and put a stop to the king's tyranny. This year, a band of skilled yet... questionable cadets set out on their new quest.
Chain Links -(Misc) : "It's a war. We're training these kids up to fight in a big bloody battle and they don't even know it." Links had long forgotten his name. Ever since he was brought to the Arena; nothing but to sleep, eat, and play the simulation. Now he's become of age to meet his mentor. Links had hoped for a kind one- instead, he got a gruffy teen coded Chain. Little did he know he was about to learn a lot more then the Councillors are willing to share.

Note: Because I hate the extreme clutter of profiles which have this uber-long list of nothing but copy and pastes, this will be the only copy-and-paste I'll have for a very long time.

Writers- all of them, from famous authors to subtle FF writers- ALL depend on the feedback from our readers. Vision Dominican brought up an interesting albeit tragically true idea:

"Lack of reviews is the greatest killer of fanfic writers out there. We at the Institute wish to let the public know of how they can pitch in to save our dying writers.

1) Drop a review every other chapter. It may not seem like much, but reviews are actually what many of us want to see. That, and hits. Hits do make us happy but we don't really know if people like our story or not.

2) Visit our author page. Those kind of hits really make us happy. It's where we showcase our entourage of friends, beta readers, and stories. Some of us even tidy up with set areas for upcoming story ideas and character bios.

3) Send an email. While normally I'd prefer a review, emails are just as good. Really, it warms my heart to communicate with another reader or writer."

What you call being "too lazy to review" is what we call "a flame to the pages" as the writers. That one minute or two that you felt "too lazy" to review is another minute of creeping discouragement that all writers feel as they begin to think...

"Why am I even here…?"

"What's even the point of continuing?"

"My skills must be terrible…no one cares for my story…"

"I'll never be a good writer...I quit."

These are only a few thoughts that go through every writer's head- that go through MY head- when we put out a chapter/story with all our heart and soul within, and we sit there…and sit…and wait…and not a single person says even a word.

If you're not a writer, you have NO IDEA how much that hurts…

If you ARE a writer, then I'm sure you know just how great it feels when someone is kind enough to leave a heartwarming and encouraging review, and you read it, smiling while thinking…"Wow…fuck...I did it…"

So, why not give fellow writers the same luxury here?

Too many times I've seen epic and utterly beautiful works of literary art fall to pieces before finally being abandoned due to the terrible discouragement that the lack of reviews can cause.

Sometimes, it is so severe that the very writer himself decides to quit, denying the world his skills of writing that I'm sure it would have deeply enjoyed.

So…

Just one minute, that's all it takes. Just a few gentle taps of the fingers on your keyboard, a few seconds or so of your time, and your words can SAVE a writer from a dark demise.

Do me a favor: Go find a story, ANY story, anywhere here on Fanfic,net, and see if you can help it. If it has very little / no reviews at all, just check it out, and say whatever comes to mind.

And enjoy the thought in mind that you could have just SAVED that story, with just a few taps of the keyboard…
